Movie One: The Demon In The Land Of Snow
Part One
Zabuza sat on the edge of a cliff the ocean raged below him and the rain poured down above him thunder screaming in the distance.
He pulled down his mask and breathed in the fresh sea air it reminded him of when he was young and he felt his thoughts race back.

"Momochi, pay attention."
He looked up at the teacher a middle-aged man with short black hair round spectacles and cruel sea green eyes he wore a sleek black suit.
"Apologies."
He sat up lazily staring at the blackboard the man sneered.
"Apologies, Yutaka-Sensei, you mean."
Zabuza shrugged.
"Yeah, that."
The man tossed an eraser at him.
"I suggest you pay more attention lest you end up a worthless sot like your father."
Zabuza hopped out of his seat growling.
"Repeat that I dare you!"
The man smirked.
"Did I touch a nerve boy?"
Zabuza glared daggers at the man.
"You're not worth my time."
He walked out of the classroom punching a hole in a wall as everyone in the class laughed and chanted.
"Loser, Loser!"
Zabuza clenched his fists putting his hands in his pockets he walked out of the building.
He walked the streets of the village and saw the rain fall from the sky mist clinging evermore.
He started the long trek home and wondered if his father would be home tonight.
Usually, he'd have to drag him out of some scummy dive bar or the arms of some gold digging whore with blonde hair and fake tits a pale imitation of the wife he'd lost.
He prepared to scout out his regular spots when he heard a familiar voice.
"Eh kid looking for your old man he's passed out in a gutter in east Opal Street."
He nodded.
"Thanks, Yamoshi."
He shrugged Zabuza began heading towards Opal Street.
Better known as "Elysium Row" there a poor man could buy rich drugs for cheap but you never paid with money only on the surface the real cost was much greater.
Though he thanked Yamoshi he knew he was a self-serving bastard.
He only kept Zabuza's father alive so he could keep him strung up on drugs and line his pockets with the Momochi Clan's money.
He arrived at his destination and sure enough, there was his father passed out over a storm drain.
He was covered only by newspapers, street urchins digging through his pockets for valuables.
Zabuza knew it was a fruitless effort they'd already been spent on Kingdom Come.
He ran over scaring off the drug addicts and pulled his father off the street.
He slung his father over his shoulder and began walking home the neon lights of the city reflecting off the puddles on the ground.
He arrived at their shack on the outskirts of the village and saw it was flooded again.
He made some handsigns and used a weak water jutsu to redirect the water out into the woods.
He dragged his father inside pulling a matchbook from a shelf he lit a lantern and illuminated the room.
He set his father down at the kitchen table.
Walking into the bedroom he grabbed their bedrolls and wrung them out into a bucket coming back to the kitchen he tossed it on his father jolting him awake.
"W-What?
Zabuza tossed the bucket in the corner of the room his father squinted grabbing his head.
"Ah shit, I really need to quit this garbage."
Zabuza said nothing and simply walked into the bedroom going to sleep.
He woke up the next morning to his father sound asleep next to him.
In his hand, he gripped a picture.
Zabuza already knew it was his mother ever since her death his father had tried to fill the hole in his heart with booze, whores, and drugs but nothing worked.
Zabuza wasn't angry with him not anymore now he just pitied him.
He got up getting dressed he had to run some errands before going to the academy.
First, he had to get groceries he stopped by a convenience store.
This was the third time he'd had to switch stores since he'd gotten kicked out of the others for fighting staff who bad-mouthed his father.
He went inside and saw it was a small store.
There was one register at the end of the room with freezers lining one wall, fridges another.
There were shelves arranged throughout he'd never seen a store like it but had to admit it was clever.
He saw a girl at the register she had long black hair tied in twin tails and blue eyes.
She smiled when she saw him and he blushed, pulling his bandanna over his face he grabbed the necessary groceries and went to the register.
"Will, that be all?"
He nodded and handed her the necessary money.
She looked at his arm and saw scars.
"Are you a ninja?"
He shook his head.
"Not yet I'm in the academy."
She nodded.
"How'd you get those scars?"
He flinched at the question and she saw his apprehension.
"Sorry, you don't have to tell me I was wrong to ask."
He shook his head.
"It's fine just unpleasant memories."
She smiled.
"I'm Yuki what's your name?"
He smiled.
"Zabuza."
She nodded.
"Nice to meet you Zabuza I hope to see you again."
He waved and went to walk out the door but bumped into a girl with short red hair and green eyes.
Knocking her over he quickly checked to make sure she was alright.
"I'm sorry are you okay."
She nodded and took his hand he recognized her from the academy.
"You're Meizaki right?"
She nodded.
"And you're Zabuza."
She smiled.
"Thank you."
He nodded and she went to go talk to Yuki he looked back as he left and saw them talking they saw him stare and he blushed embarrassedly walking away.

"Lord Zabuza?"
He snapped out of his memory looking to the voice which addressed him.
"Kimimaro I thought I told you not to call me that."
He nodded.
"My apologies Zabuza force of habit."
He waved him off.
"What is it?"
He reached into his shirt and pulled out a scroll.
"Yamma sent a message."
Zabuza grabbed the scroll opening it and scanning the contents within.
"He found us a mission gather Gozu and Meizu and head out I'll meet up with you later but first I have something I need to do."
Kimimaro nodded and headed out.
Zabuza sat back down watching the ocean it was still raging storm clouds in the distance he laid back watching the sky and drifted off to sleep.

Zabuza walked back home dropping off the groceries and saw a note on the table.
'Zabuza I'll be gone for a couple of days don't skip school - Dad'
He crumpled up the note tossing it into the garbage no doubt he was on a bender probably going to the nearby gambling village.
He didn't have time for this he had to be at the academy in an hour so.
He headed out on his way to the academy.
He passed the store and saw an older woman probably Yuki's mom manning the register.
Turning the corner headed to the academy he crashed into someone he saw it was the red-haired girl Meizaki again.
"Twice in one day you're really ungraceful."
He blushed.
"My bad."
She shrugged and got to her feet.
"Well since you knocked me over you owe me come on you can walk me to the academy."
She grabbed him by the arm and dragged him to the academy.
They arrived just as the rest of the students flooded in the doorway and made their way inside.
Zabuza went to sit at his usual spot but was dragged by Meizaki to sit next to her.
Class went by in a flash mostly because Zabuza slept through it.
Afterward, he walked with Meizaki his dad was gone so he didn't have anything to do so he just wandered aimlessly going wherever she took him.
"You're not very feminine are you."
She blushed and punched him in the arm.
"What a rude thing to say, Idiot."
He chuckled earning another punch from Meizaki they walked around aimlessly just staring at the sky rainclouds everywhere and mist everpresent.
Without realizing it they had stumbled upon Yuki's store and decided to drop by she was manning the register and her eyes lit up when she saw them.
"Zabuza, Meizaki!"
She ran over giving them both a big hug earning a blush from Zabuza.
"So you two know each other?"
Yuki nodded.
"Zaki was my first friend after I moved here about a month ago."
Meizaki blushed embarrassedly.
"Yeah well, I just couldn't stand to see you have no friends."
Yuki giggled and gave her a big hug.
"Zaki's such a good person!"
Zabuza walked over and grabbed a canned green tea from the fridge he went to check out but Yuki waved him off.
"Don't worry bout it Zabuza, it's on the house."
He looked at her apprehensively.
"Are you sure, I can pay?"
She shook her head.
"No, it's free, unless-"
She got a mischievous look on her face and leaped onto the counter getting in Zabuza's face she whispered in his ear.
"You want to pay with a kiss."
He turned bright red falling back and accidentally dragging her down with him the tea exploded drenching them both in tea.
Meizaki busted out laughing and Yuki stood up pouting.
"I'm gonna go change."
Zabuza turned to glare at Meizaki who was dying on the floor laughing.
He turned back and accidentally caught a glimpse of Yuki changing in the other room.
She was surprisingly toned for a civilian and had scars all over her arms and stomach this caught him off guard as he wondered what could've caused them.
Meizaki caught his curious glance and shrugged apparently she didn't know either.
He figured it was better not to mention besides he didn't want her to know he'd seen her in a compromising position.
A few minutes later Yuki came back in a white dress with two metal cans one orange soda the other a tea to replace the one Zabuza spilled.
"Sorry bout that so what do you want to do today shogi, go, charades?"
Meizaki got a mischevious look in her eye.
"How about spin the bottle?"
Zabuza and Yuki blushed.
"W-what?"
Meizaki giggled at Zabuza's embarrassed face.
"You heard me."
She lifted an empty green bottle from behind her back.
Yuki nodded hesitantly.
"I-I'm in."
Zabuza shrugged nervously.
"I guess."
Meizaki looked at Yuki who was pink in the face.
"Host gets the first spin."
Yuki spun the bottle and it landed on Meizaki.
Yuki leaned forward slowly and Meizaki closed the gap locking lips with her Yuki blushed bright red her eyes widening.
"Wow."
Meizaki smiled.
"First time kissing a girl?"
She nodded.
"My turn."
Meizaki spun the bottle and it landed on Zabuza.
He blushed and jumped a little as she leaned in kissing him on the lips after a couple of minutes of making out they separated.
He went to spin the bottle wordless.
It landed on Yuki and they both inched forward only to be shoved together by Meizaki who was laughing raucously.
When their lips met it happened, a spark, they stared into each other's eyes and kissed gently but passionately.
Meizaki caught onto this and excused herself silently citing some lame excuse about leaving an oven on.
Zabuza blushed bright red nervousness overtaking him he excused himself to running out of the store.
Ignoring Yuki's protests and Meizaki's questioning he ran for several blocks before stopping in an alley grabbing his rapidly beating chest.
He sat down and punched a wall.
"Damn it!"
He began to feel the onset of a mini panic attack.
His mind was filled with doubting voices.
'What did you do? Your friendship will be ruined, there's no way she likes you back.'
After a couple of hours, he began to head home.
Zabuza walked home laid down and went to sleep.

Zabuza awoke from his sleep when he heard footsteps crunching the grass behind him.
He sat up and looked behind him to see Haku walking over to him.
"I knew you'd come."
He stood up.
"Sorry, Lord Zabuza I had business to attend to."
She blushed when she said this and he smirked.
"Of the blonde variety you mean."
She turned bright red.
"You knew?"
He nodded.
"You're not subtle, kid."
He grabbed his Executioner's Blade strapping it to his back.
"Let's go."
She smiled and followed him.
Several hours later they arrived at the mission office where the demon brothers were waiting for him.
Yamma stood in front of the bulletin in civilian clothes holding a sealed letter.
He saw Zabuza and walked over handing it to him.
Zabuza opened it and began to read, it was written in fancy silver writing.
He noticed it was meant for one Kakashi Hatake he looked at Yamma.
"How'd you get this?"
Yamma smirked and Zabuza noticed the blood on his hands and the frightened postal employee behind the counter.
"I can be very persuasive."
Zabuza shrugged and continued reading.
'Dear Kakashi, this is Sandayu."
Zabuza pondered why that name sounded familiar but he couldn't place it.
"Years ago you saved Princess Koyuki now I call upon you to protect her again please if you're willing you can find me at Rachyo's tea shop in the Land Of Greens."
Zabuza finished reading the letter and walked over to a nearby lamppost tossing it in burning it.
He drew his sword and pointed it at the postal employee's throat.
"You'll forget what you saw here or we'll be back."
He nodded fervently and Zabuza walked away motioning the others to follow.

Things were awkward for the next couple weeks they all hung out like usual but not much was said.
Eventually, things began to return to normal although things would get awkward when Meizaki wasn't around.
After one day of particularly hard training, Zabuza went home to sleep.
He was awoken ten minutes early to a loud crashing.
He hopped out of bed to investigate though he already suspected what it was.
He stepped into the kitchen and saw his father sake in one hand a whore in the other.
"HeeyZaabuzaa LoookaaIgoot."
Zabuza sighed he didn't have time for this.
He walked past his father and stormed out the door he walked down to the store and met Meizaki and Yuki who each gave him a smile.
Yuki waved goodbye as they left for the academy.
He made it to the academy just in time to see a blue-haired boy getting jumped by three older boys he ran over getting in between the boys.
"What are you guys doing leave him alone!"
They all laughed.
"Or what is the class Loser gonna stop us?"
Zabuza smirked.
"That's right."
The eldest of the three boys stepped forward.
"You're bluffing, what are you scared?"
He went to punch Zabuza only for his arm to get caught and broken getting tossed into his lackies.
Zabuza began to chuckle.
"You're always so pompous Ryuji it really pisses me off."
He rushed forward kicking him in the face breaking his nose causing crimson blood to rain.
"Is that really all the top of the class has to offer?"
Zabuza kneecapped him causing him to scream out in pain.
"I have no mercy for shit like you stay down the next time you attack someone I'll take an eye."
He spit in his face.
"And I'll turn you two into singers."
Drawing a kunai he pointed to his terrified lackies.
They paled grabbing their leader they ran.
Zabuza reached down helping the blue-haired boy to his feet.
"Are you okay kid what's your name?"
He nodded.
"Choujurin."
Zabuza smiled at the boy.
The boy wore a blue crew cut t-shirt with a black Mist village flak jacket over it, traditional Mist village striped wristbands and legwarmers.
He also wore white pants and grey sandals he had long blue hair swept over his face and had a large bandaged bundle on his back.
"Be more careful Choujurin there's a lot of bad people around here."
Choujurin smiled gratefully.
"You're like my guardian angel."
Zabuza shook his head.
"Far from it, just a righteous demon."
He turned around and walked to class Meizaki trying to hide the smile on her face.

They arrived in the Land Of Greens as the first rays of dawn touched the grass.
Zabuza found a cheap hotel and they rented a room and all bunked up taking a rest before meeting with their client.
Zabuza realized they looked a little too menacing.
If they were going to fool the client into thinking they were friends of Kakashi's they'd need a wardrobe change.
They went to a nearby shinobi fence who supplied stolen gear and bought some new clothes.
Zabuza kept his outfit pretty much the same but replaced his black sleeveless shirt with a blue sleeveless shirt and wore a Leaf village flak jacket over it.
He also replaced his Mist Village headband with a Leaf village headband.
He replaced his blue striped Mist village wristbands and leg warmers with orange striped wristbands and leg warmers.
Haku replaced her blue kimono with grey shorts a summer green t-shirt cut off at her midriff with orange suspenders connecting them.
She also wore a red choker and orange striped wristbands and leg warmers blue sandals and a blue Leaf village headband on her forehead.
She had her hair in a spiky ponytail at the back with strands going down either side of her face with pink beads over them.
Gozu and Meizu wore generic blue ANBU pants and grey crew cut t-shirts with black sandals and white bandages over their arms and hands hiding their gauntlets.
They didn't have the chains attached for stealth purposes and wore their blue Leaf village headbands around their waists.
Their hair was swept out of their faces tied in ponytails.
Yamma wore grey ANBU pants a white sleeveless shirt with a Leaf village flak jacket over it blue sandals with black bandages over his arms and hands covering his gauntlets.
He wore a black Leaf village headband around his neck.
He let his hair down only parted to either side so he could see.
Kimimaro kept his outfit pretty much the same.
He just switched to a summer green variant, replacing his Mist village headband with a Leaf village headband, and tied his hair in a ponytail.
Once they had all changed Zabuza gathered them in their room.
"Okay, we need him to believe we're friends of Kakashi's so here's what we're going to say."
He closed his eyes for a moment thinking of a script.
"I'm Zabuza a Jonin from the Leaf village Haku and Kimimaro are my Genin and Yamma is my back up with Gozu and Meizu his genin-"
He shuffled gripping the handle of is blade.
"Yamma if you can't play the part of a goody two shoes then just don't speak we'll say you're mute I won't have you blowing our cover."
Yamma chuckled at Zabuza's annoyance.
"Gozu and Meizu try to act like Genin Haku you're fine the way you are but Kimimaro you need to show a little emotion, okay, everyone got that let's go."
He walked out the door followed shortly by the rest of them.

Zabuza sat in class a feeling of dread overtook him.
He couldn't shake the feeling something bad was gonna happen after the last lesson had finished the teacher gathered the attention of the class.
"Tomorrow is the final exam so make sure you're ready, class dismissed."
Zabuza, Meizaki, and Choujurin walked out of the building and headed down to Yuki's store.
When they got there they saw several girls from the class harassing Yuki who was crying.
The tallest one a mean looking girl with short brown hair and sharp teeth grabbed her hair slamming her head against the wall.
"You stuck up bitch I just wanted a free drink was that too much to ask?"
Yuki guarded her face crying.
"I'm sorry just take it and leave me alone."
Zabuza ran over grabbing the girl by her throat and slammed her to the ground pulling a kunai from his pouch.
There was a look of pure rage in his eyes As her hair was released by the shocked girl Yuki ran out the door.
"We'll go get her."
Meizaki and Choujurin ran after her.
"You piece of garbage, how dare, you touch her!"
The girl paled.
"I-I'm sorry."
He smiled wickedly.
"Not yet you aren't but you will be."
He reached into her mouth with his kunai putting it to her tongue.
With one fluid motion carved it out her mouth which began to fill with blood and he punched her face in with the flat of his kunai breaking her nose.
Blood began to rain down her face he stood up turning to her frightened friends.
"Take her and go if you're still here when I get back you'll get worse than she did."
They nodded fervently picking up their leader and ran.
He took off out the door running after Choujurin, Meizaki, and Yuki.
He was stopped when he felt his arm being grabbed.
He turned around to punch whoever it was but saw it was his father covered in blood with a giant sword strapped to his back.
"Dad what the hell happened!?"
His father's eyes darted around and he was on high alert.
"We need to go Zabuza it's begun."
Zabuza looked at him annoyed.
"What's begun are you high again."
He shook his head.
"Dad I don't have time for this you can tell me later I need to find my friends."
He took off in the direction of Yuki and Meizaki.
"Zabuza wait!"
His father reached for him but he was already gone.
Zabuza ran in the direction of his friends as chaos broke out around him.
He saw hunter ninja swooping down and fighting with men in white jackets and grey balaclavas some hunter ninja were taking off their masks and joining the enemies.
Explosions broke out smoke rising in the distance as people screamed and rioted some of the men in white jackets swopping down and killing random citizens.
"What the hell is going on here!?"
He turned a corner running into an alley and hopped over a stone wall cutting a street to catch up with his friends.
He was almost upon them when a hunter ninja in blue armor tackled him from above drawing a tanto, he had long brown hair and a crazy look in his eyes.
"Imagine my surprise stumbling upon Tenzo's brat in the middle of ground zero he really should keep a better eye on his stuff."
He raised his tanto preparing to end Zabuza when a large flat blade glowing with chakra busted through his chest.
Zabuza looked to the perpetrator and saw Choujurin holding the handle his hair parted from his eyes he had an intense look in them and bared his shark-like teeth.
"Come on Zabuza we need to find the girls it's not safe out here!"
Zabuza nodded hopping to his feet and they ran in the direction of the girls.

Zabuza and Co. arrived outside of Rachyo's tea shop and were greeted by a pretty brown haired girl.
They walked inside and saw it was packed a wise place for a meeting as it ensured your enemies wouldn't attack directly and if they did you could use all the chaos to slip away.
They looked around for any figures that stood out and saw an older man with slicked-back grey hair a beard and mustache and round spectacles.
He was adjusting his glasses reflecting the light from the overhead lighting a subtle action that most people would overlook but a clear shinobi message to draw attention to someone.
They walked over to him and Zabuza sat across from him with Kimimaro and Haku while the Demon brothers sat in the booth behind them he looked at them warily
"Who are you I sent for Kakashi?"
Zabuza faux smiled.
"I'm a friend of Kakashi's he's on a mission right now and couldn't make it in time so the Hokage sent us instead."
Sandayu nodded.
"Are you strong?"
Zabuza nodded.
"I'm a Jonin so is my associate over there his students are Chunin and mine are Genin."
Sandayu nodded.
"Come with me."
He stood up and walked out they followed him and he led them to a town not far from the tea shop.
"Did he give you the details of the mission?"
Zabuza nodded.
"It's a protection mission right?"
He nodded.
"I need you to protect a high-value client of mine you may have heard of her Yukie Fujikaze."
Zabuza looked curiously.
"The actress?"
Sandayu nodded.
"The very same."
He led them to a warehouse and stopped outside the doors.
"We're going to be filming a movie in the Land Of Snow but it's a dangerous place full of rogue ninja so we need you to protect everyone while we film."
Zabuza nodded.
"Easy enough,"
He smirked.
"Also Yukie is a bit of a flight risk so we need you to keep her from running away."
Zabuza nodded.
"Haku it's your job to make sure Yukie doesn't run away."
Haku nodded.
"Yes, Zabuza-Sensei."
His eye twitched but he hid it.
"Very well let's introduce you to the cast and crew."
Sandayu opened the warehouse and they followed him in.
They walked into the warehouse and saw advert signs cardboard cutouts of actors in costume and vanity mirrors where the actors sat and got their makeup put on.
A short elderly man with blue tinted glasses a brown hat and a megaphone obviously the director sat in a red chair shouting directions at people.
Industrial lights were set up in the corners of the room.
Sandayu dragged him over.
"Director Makino these are the ninja assigned to protect us this is their leader Zabuza."
Makino reached out a hand and Zabuza shook it a faux smile on his face.
"Pleased to meet you, sir."
A tall man with short spiky green hair and a laid-back expression on his face came over and shook Zabuza's hand.
"Nice to meet you I'm Hidero."
Zabuza nodded a bald man with brown eyes, and a handsome man with long brown hair and purple eyes came over shook his hand and introduced themselves as Kin and Michy respectively.
After all the introductions had been made Sandayu checked his watch.
"Yukie should be back by now."
He sighed.
"She's probably run away again."
He turned to the chief of security a brusk man with short spiky black hair and brown eyes.
"Deploy the search team and take these shinobi with you they can help search a lot faster."
He turned to Zabuza.
"Sorry, Zabuza I hate to inconvenience you this early into our professional relationship."
Zabuza waved him off.
"It's fine it's my pleasure."
He motioned his companions to follow him and walked with the chief of security.
A couple of minutes later they regrouped Yamma had Yukie tied to his back with a gag in her mouth Zabuza looked at him curiously.
"Why'd you gag her?"
Yamma looked annoyed.
"She wouldn't shut up."
He set her down ripping the gag out of her mouth.
"Let me go!"
Yamma smirked.
"Not gonna happen girly you're our meal ticket so shut up and stop running away all you're doing is wasting our time."
She stared coldly at the ground Zabuza looked around.
"The others must still be searching well no other choice but to wait here."
He sat down setting his blade on the ground Yamma following his lead.
A few minutes later Sandayu returned on horseback with the security team.
"You found her thank goodness."
He dismounted his horse walking over to Yukie.
"Princess you can't just run from your problems you need to step up and face them."
She stared at the ground.
"Just take me back to the hotel I need a shower."
He nodded.
"Good job men you're relieved for the day."
The security dismounted their horses and headed back to town Sandayu turned to Zabuza.
"Do you have anyone that can watch Yukie?"
He nodded.
"My student Haku is extremely skilled also she's a girl so you won't have to worry about her trying anything."
He stared at Yamma who shrugged Sandayu nodded.
"Thank you, Zabuza."
Zabuza nodded.
"No problem"
They made their way to the hotel where they'd be staying for the night Zabuza and Kimimaro got a room the Demon brothers got a room and Haku stayed with Yukie.
Zabuza laid in the bed and stared at the ceiling images from his past flashing through his mind.
'Why am I remembering this now.'
He fell asleep and slept restlessly nightmares of his past playing in his mind.
