"App app app app!" Jack held up both his hands, interrupting Sam mid-sentence.
"No technobabble, Carter," he said forcefully, "that's an order!"
Sam cocked her head slightly, as she leaned against one of Jack's recliners. Daniel and Teal'c were lounging on the couch, both watching their friends' bickering in amusement.
"Ah! Sir," Sam said, holding up a cautioning finger, "we are off duty. Your rank and..." she stood up straight and waved at him dismissively with both arms as she scrunched her nose, "colonel-yness, holds no power here."
At her uncharacteristic use of the completely made-up, childlike, word, Daniel snorted with laughter and sprayed out a large sip of beer all over Jack's livingroom table. Jack rested his face in his hands, shaking his head.
"Okay, fine," he surrendered, and looked up, "I can't order you around based on my "colonel-yness", but this IS my home. And I can make rules as I please, and rule number freaking one is that you're not allowed any technobabble!"
Teal'c cleared his throat to attract his friend's attention, and Jack turned his head to look at him.
"O'Neill, Major Carter was hardly speaking in "technobabble", she was merely telling you that if you have literature leaned against the television apparatus, it will interrupt the signals and your remote control device will not function."
Jack sighed deeply in frustration.
"Yeah, Jack, " Daniel said, having recovered from his laughing fit, "that's just basic knowledge."
"Well, then, just a piece of advice, Carter." Jack said, once again focusing on Sam, who was giggling with her hands over her mouth. She nodded, to tell him that she was still listening.
"If you want credibility when you demote me in my own home," he gave a warm smile, "don't call me "sir"."
