Note: This is meant to be going on somewhere else on the island during Scene 4, assuming that the passengers regrouped after they escaped the Gorilla) It is nearing sunset, the passengers and crew of the Vengeance were wrecked on the island earlier that day. Tom, Arlene, Douglas, and Nurse Jane have split the passengers up among them to search for food. To her dismay, Arlene has been grouped with Tom, Honey, and Trixie. Suddenly, the companionable silence is broken as Honey screams. "AAH! A big, ugly bug is after me!!!!!!!" Honey screams as Arlene drags her along. "Concentrate, Honey. We're looking for food, not 'scary' animals. We don't have the supplies to kill them." She grumbles to the celebrity. "Ew, I wouldn't want a bloody animal anyway. I'm strictly vegan." Trixie says matter-of-factly. "Does fruit fit into that diet? Because that's all we're going to be able to find.." Tom states. Arlene tries not to roll her eyes-it's been a rough day. "And don't forget to look for 'Commodore Withers'." She mumbles to herself. "Oh yes of course." The incompetent captain replies, not realizing her sarcasm or that she had been talking to herself.
"What's he look like, anyway?" Trixie asks in her 'I have to know everything' voice. "I don't remember meeting him."
"Me neither." Honey adds, though she probably has also forgotten what her assistant looks like already.
"Come to think of it, neither have I." Tom adds as well. Arlene's frustration would have been obvious by now to a smarter group.
"That's because Commodore Withers died almost a decade ago, Tom." Arlene spits the words out in her annoyance.
"You mean a ghost was on board our ship?" Tom yelps, looking pale.
"NO! In case you don't remember, Captain, the travel agent that booked Mrs. Withers mentioned to us that Mrs. Withers is obviously a batty old lady. She refused to grieve for her husband, insisting that he is alive, well, and lives with her still. She seems to be getting along fine like this. So we were told to humor her."
"Oh." Tom replies quietly, obviously embarrassed to have completely forgotten.
"So there's no ghost?" Trixie asks, suspicious.
"No, Miss Lupino, no ghosts."
Honey and Trixie look quite relieved. The party continues to walk for a while.
"I played a ghost in a movie once..." Honey begins, and Arlene finds some beeswax to stuff in her ears. Right before she stuffs it in, however, she hears a buzzing noise...
