So Scandal has just started in Aus and this was just a short drabble I came up with after watching 1x03. I'm thinking of doing a sequel to this with Fitz and Olivia

I invited Olivia because like I said Fitz needed to see her. I knew he was in love with her I knew it from the beginning. I was upset when I first figured it out. But I know Fitz loves me and we both needed each other to get to the White house, we seem like the perfect couple to the public eye.
I also knew about the other affairs Amanda Tanner wasn't the first. They happen every time there is a break in Olivia and his relationship. Its Fitz way of convincing himself that Olivia isn't important to him, that she is nothing special.
I also know that Cyrus just found out about the affair and doesn't approve he just sees it as a threat to Fitz and the campaign if it gets out. I know Olivia leaving was her way of ending the affair and it has been obvious to anyone who knows Fitz that he hasn't been the same since she left .He brightens up when she is around he sleeps better.
But something happened tonight something that made it worse that it has been. I convinced the security guys that I had to look at the footage from tonight to check something important and that I had to look at alone when in reality I was watching to see what happened once Olivia left the ballroom. I can't say I was surprised by the fact that Cyrus lied to her but I knew I had to do something I sent the footage I needed to my phone and left the room. Thanking the guards on the way out as I headed to where I knew Fitz would be.
"Fitz honey we need to talk."
"Yes Mellie?"
"About Olivia I know about the two of you. I've known since before it happened I watched the two of you get closer on the campaign trail. I know you love me and that one of the reasons we got married was because we both wanted to end up here. And while you love me you're absolutely in love with Olivia. You sleeping with her weren't like any of the other affairs you have had."
"I do love you. Why didn't you ever say anything? And your right she is the only one that has ever meant something but it's too late now I thought she was going to meet me tonight and she didn't."
"About that I know why she didn't." I showed him the footage that I had gotten of Olivia and Cyrus conversation. I could tell he was mad when it was finished he just looked at me I just smiled at him and told him to call her.
