Okay, so I have actually been quite into College AUs as of late, and I've found some really good prompts on Tumblr. So, here is this, a RosexDoctor college AU.
Title: drunken disaster.
Prompt: "drunkenly hooked up but you're dating my roommate who already hates me college au."
Summary: "Hello, sweetheart." He said, his tongue sliding between his teeth as he spoke. His voice was quite heavenly, and Rose scrambled to brush the hair out of her face. "What's your name?"
Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who. At all. I know, it's sad.
Music: I used a lot of Meghan Trainor for this, and a little bit of Taylor Swift.
drunken delight.
by Everyone's a Mortal.
Mickey had disappeared a few hours ago and Rose was stumbling through the bar, her smile worn and her words slurred. "Another drink please, mate." She said to the bartender, and he indeed poured her another glass. Rose's vision was slightly slurred but honestly she couldn't have cared less. After drinking a couple more rounds she made her way outside, not caring where she was going.
Her blonde hair hung in her eyes so it was harder see. It really should not have come as a surprise, then, that she stumbled into someone quite violently.
"Whoa, sorry there m...ate..." she said, looking up and losing all words. The stranger looking down at her was very handsome, if she said so herself, and, to her drunken delight, very, very drunk. He grabbed her in the bottom area and smiled.
"Hello, sweetheart." He said, his tongue sliding between his teeth as he spoke. His voice was quite heavenly, and Rose scrambled to brush the hair out of her face. "What's your name?"
"Rose." She said, giggling wildly as he smiled again, this time with an undertone of complete lust. "How about you, handsome boy?"
His face clouded over. "I don't know." He said after a second, looking a bit sad. Then his face brightened, once again groping Rose. "But people call me the Doctor. That's what I'm training to be."
"Kinky."
"Very." He said.
They walked out the door, not bothering to keep their hands off each other as they stumbled into Rose's apartment.
In the morning, the Doctor, as he had introduced himself, woke up to find a distraught and quite naked Rose looking at him like the world was ending. Reality came crashing down on him and he paled considerably.
"We didn't..."
Rose nodded.
"No." The young adult widened his eyes.
Rose put on a shirt before looking at him.
"We did." The Doctor gulped, reaching towards his jeans and beer-smelling shirt. "Mickey's gonna kill me. He already hates me as it is."
"Well," Rose couldn't help but laugh, "You are pretty popular, John." She said, saying his actual name and not the nickname the whole campus knew him by.
"What are we gonna do?" The Doctor asked, slipping on his shirt and getting out of the bed. The initial panic had died down, replaced by worry and a little fear of what Mickey would do if he found it he'd slept with his girlfriend.
"Not tell Mickey." Rose stated, and the Doctor laughed.
"Sounds like a deal, Tyler."
"See you 'round, Smith."
Before he left, the Doctor turned to look at Rose. "You're pretty good in bed, y'know."
"I'm pretty." Rose corrected.
The young man laughed. "That, too."
They saw each other a few more times, just the two of them, no Mickey to divide Rose's attention or Jack to tease them relentlessly (he'd found out about that drunken disaster of theirs, somehow).
They saw each other at that old restaurant that had survived just about everything; World War II, The Queen's sudden visit (that had been quite a day), Mickey's habit of making it very hard for the waiters to wait on their customers. It was still there. The restaurant was called Noble Sweets, and Donna Noble, the grand daughter of the owner, was a good friend of Rose and the Doctor's.
She stepped inside to the healthy environment of the place famous for its sweets and tea. Rose took a whiff of the wonderful combination and proceeded to find a place in line. She was quite patient when it came to good food, so as the line slowly but surely moved forward, she smiled at the progress. Soon enough, she heard the familiar voice of the employee ready to take her order.
Actually, it was a little too familiar.
Rose looked up rather quickly, into the face that belonged to John Smith, more commonly known as the Doctor, and smiled. "You!" She exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"
He smiled cheekily at her, "I work here."
The blonde girl blushed, "No, no, I mean, I know that. But. How'd you get a job here?"
He ran a hand through his hair and said, "I'm best friends with the owner's grand daughter."
Rose nodded, and they chatted animatedly about nothing in particular until Wilf, the owner, yelled out from the kitchen, "Do you have the next order yet?"
The Doctor snapped back into action, asking once again, "What can I get you?"
Rose placed her order, smiled at the young man, and sat down to wait. No one called out her number; instead, she saw Donna come in (Rose smiled at the redheaded young woman; she really was very sweet) and take the Doctor's place. He swiftly grabbed an order after looking at its number and sat down in front of Rose, a coffee for her and tea for himself.
After niceties and such, the Doctor took a breath before asking, "Do you really love Mickey, Rose?"
Rose gulped. "Not really. But he's been holding on to me for as long as I can remember and I'm afraid what would happen if I left him on his own."
"But don't you want to do anything else?" He asked, eyes staring at her intently. He always looked so focussed and somewhere else, at times it startled her. "Don't you want to leave him if you don't love him?"
"I'd love to see the world. I just don't know if I can." The blonde responded, and her brunette friend shook his head.
"That's a stupid excuse." The Doctor leaned forward, "What if I told you I could take you around the world?"
Rose rose a brow. "Prove it and I'd go with you."
"Would you leave Mickey?"
She thought of that boy that she'd never really loved, that had hung onto her ever since she could remember. She thought of how unfair she was being to the both of them, and nodded, very slowly.
"Yes."
From behind them, Donna Noble smiled at the two, knowing all too well how much her best friend loved the blonde girl.
He had a ship, Rose had been told, an airplane called the TARDIS. It was named after his dog, who'd died when he was about eleven. They'd leave as soon as possible, and Rose couldn't help feel a bit giddy.
She walked in, one day, after weeks and weeks of not telling Mickey about their little night together, and Mickey slung his arm around her and Rose felt a little pit in her stomach, because this was the night; she was gonna leave him. For a moment she didn't want to. For a moment she was afraid it would all go wrong.
In the corner of her eye, Rose saw the Doctor smile at her.
"You're pretty good in bed, Rose Tyler." He mouthed at her.
"I'm pretty." She mouthed back.
A few weeks later they disappeared and weren't seen for a full year.
Wow, this actually has a LOT of holes in it, it's absolutely not my best fic, but I'm a bit lazy at the moment so here it is. I didn't proof read, so apologies for the spelling mistakes and such.
I KNOW that in England y'all weirdos call it university, you don't have colleges (or maybe you do; DO YOU?), but the prompt was college AU. I did my best to make it university-ish. Sorry for anything I got wrong.
Rose and the Doctor are a bit OOC, considering that they're human and start of drunk. But all in all, I hope y'all liked it.
Constructive criticism welcome!
