People never listen
People never care
They are so oblivious
They are so unaware
He's going to destroy us
They lay down at his feet
He's been dreaming of this
Since he was just a smeet
The Earth shatters around him
Chaos poisons the air
I could prevent it all
If I was even there
My mind is long gone
Insanity consumes
It's like seeing someone else
Breathe in those heavy fumes
He laughs maniacally and takes his stance
More than prepared
He's too quick for anyone else
Catching them unaware
I know his every move
His every twitch and thought
His cackle pierces the air
At the chaos he has wrought
We clash together with a bang
We punch and viciously fight
Regardless of what we think
What we're doing is right
His zipper-teeth smile taunts
As he slashes at my chest
He laughs at my weak attempts
To try and fight my best
My best gets better, as he sees
But it is far too late
His Armada descends from the sky
And yet he stops to wait
He looks confused, a normal look
As he sees his leaders
Floating ever closer
I glare at those cheaters
They tell Zim he's not worthy
Though his mission is complete
That he's more annoying than a stale chip
That no one wants to eat
His antennas flatten against his head
As he realizes his mistake
He just destroyed his only home
His real home was fake
The leaders remove his Pak
And leave him in the street
I venture closer to him
With my quiet boot-clad feet
I pick him up carefully
This enemy of mine
I have to save his life
Before he runs out of time
I try to create a makeshift Pak
Before ten minutes is gone
Why am I even doing this?
He is evil's spawn!
Yet these are my hands saving him
Hoping he won't die
If I was in the same position
I wonder if he'd even try
I just barely save him
As he looks up with fear
He still thinks I'll kill him
That death is somewhat near
I laugh at his expression
While people scream outside
He shoves me away and runs out the door
Don't say I didn't try
I follow closely behind
Hoping he's somewhat least sane
He turns around and holds my throat
Causing me great pain
"You knew, Dib-worm, you knew!
You knew this would all end wrong!"
I shook my head frantically
Hoping the torture wouldn't prolong
He releases me and I fall down
Gasping for my breath
He stares down accusingly
"Why did you save me from death?"
"Zim, you should know by now
That no one gets left behind.
Not even a part-time friend
Out to destroy mankind.
It doesn't make sense to me either
So don't ask me to explain.
I just don't want you to die
With a spreading green bloodstain."
He raised an eye at me
And leaned closer to my face
He grit his teeth in anger, and said
"You're a complete disgrace.
Your people don't like you
And neither do I
And yet you save both of us
Of course Zim would ask why.
A true soldier slays his enemy
Regardless of their past."
I glared at him and stood up
Hoping I looked steadfast
"I didn't need to save you, Zim.
I could have left you to rot.
I'm going against everything I believe,
Everything I've been taught.
But even you don't deserve their wrath
Now help me fix your mistake."
He glares suspiciously at me,
As I held my arm out for a handshake
We shook and stared at the scene
Burning and screaming, but alive
He grinned and nodded, having decided
To let humanity survive
