Perfection

Iridescent, twinkling lights and white, downy satin

Freesia, Orange blossom, Lilac, and Rose scents cascading the air

Forceful application of make-up to my face

A beautiful white dress to top it all off

A brief ceremony and the party had begun

Recognizing the differences between warm hugs and icy embraces

The realization of a missing wedding guest and the heartache that followed

"It's so nice to meet you" I said with a pained smile

Standard traditions, at a not so standard wedding

Elegant wedding cake and bouquets flying high

The customary first dance, as I pathetically twirled around the floor

Blinding camera flashes and a surprise-wedding gift

Everything was perfect

Salt-water tears streamed down my new face

Angry outbursts and irrational names said that I would soon regret

Sudden pain in my forearms and pleads of help from familiar voices

My best friend phasing into a monster, what else is new?

Irritation as I was thrust out of my fantasy

I felt like Cinderella, when someone yelled "It's Time!"

But I wasn't going to leave behind a glass slipper, how cliché

My whole life was no ordinary fairytale, being in love with a vampire, and all

The most gorgeous wedding a person could ever have

Maternal promises and wishful goodbyes

A tear or two shed

"I'll love you forever" I said to my parents

A shower of rice and an adorned "Just Married" getaway car

The last image I saw was my parents holding hands,

So many different types of love, harmonious in that one moment

I Love You 3

"That's why we're here." He said with a smile

The faint sound of a heartbroken howl, never registered to me.

But the pain that it left, stayed in my heart forever

I thought being married to Edward would make me whole

But it there was still a gap in my soul

And only one person could fill that gap

You have no idea what it is like to be me, to be….
