The sound of the alarm ran and I burst through the doors, not bothering to look back, already knowing that I'm being chased by those men. I turned a sharp corner and slid on the slippery muddy ground. Rain poured from the sky as I quickly, messily, regained my balance. I held onto the wall as I looked out into the ominous fog that seemed to appear from nowhere. I heard yells and screams and I knew the men weren't far from where I now stood. I looked around in a frenzy, I couldn't tell where to go, so I dashed out to a random area.

"Run, run away!" I called to anyone who I passed. Heads turned towards me, expressionless. Someone reached out to grab me, yet I dodged them right in time. I didn't bother looking back at them, if they wouldn't listen, they're goners.

"Catch him! He can't be far!" the voices of the men shouted behind me. Unable to resist the urge, I looked back. Suddenly I was knocked to the ground; I looked up only for the man's face to be blurred by the thick fog.

"Come with me." He said in a low husky voice, holding out his hand towards my direction. I looked back, hearing the shouting getting closer and knowing I didn't really have any other options; I took hold of this stranger's hand. In a flash I was pulled to my feet, then towards his arms. He squeezed me tightly and threw me over his shoulder.

"W-wait you-!" I yelled only to be shushed by this strange man.

"I'm going to help you escape." He said as he began running in the opposite direction I was, running towards the men.

I thrashed out, hitting and smacking this man, was I being betrayed-of course, I can't trust strangers!

"Calm yourself young boy," the man said, "I won't let them harm you anymore." He dashed passed the men, and I could tell they didn't notice us.

"Where are you taking me?" I whispered, though it was loud enough for him to hear.

"I'm taking you away from this place." He said reassuringly. I stopped struggling and thought to myself.

Why do I feel like I can trust him?

A light was turned on in the now pitch black darkness, fog still surrounded us but at last I could make out the man's face. He let me down, off his shoulder, and turned towards me. His face…looked familiar…

He swiped a card of some sort and a gate opened. "go." He said and pushed me gently on the back. I turned towards him. And on impulse I said.

"What about you."

He crouched down a little, to get to my level. Smiling warmly he said "I cannot leave…you see, I'm bound to this place…" he showed me his chest; there was a strange tattoo…

"But…you can be free." He said giving me a warm hug. I acting without thinking, I did something I'd regret, but I pulled his face towards mine, and gave him a quick little kiss. For some reason this urge overwhelmed me. Blushing deeply I pushed him away,

"I-I'm so-!" I began but was cut off by another kiss, this time felt a bit forceful yet I sank into his lips. Soon enough those voices came back. He pushed me past the gate and yelled,

"RUN!"

I felt tears form in the edges of my eyes as I dashed out the gate, feeling the cool gravel against the soles of my dirty bare feet. I turned back, holding in my tears,

"I'm free now…" I began, "but I will be coming back…:

I ran, as fast as I could, the sounds of the men yelling faded as I ran farther…
