Lily Potter frowned as she lay in bed staring at the ceiling. Tomorrow was quite a special day, it was her brother's, Albus, birthday. She sighed sadly, she hadn't seen Al for quite some time now. It was Summer break now and she spent her vacation partly over at friends and partly at home with James and her father and mother. Coming September first Lily would be entering her fourth year in Hogwarts and James would be going into his Seventh. She missed Albus at school but usually she had too many other things to think about so she didn't dwell on it as much. At home though she could remember him.

Albus hadn't come to Hogwarts like James and her. Instead he had begged Harry and Ginny to let him go to the Australian institute for Magic. He had always wanted to travel. As a kid he had his room decorated with a map of the world and he would spend hours drawing foreign places that existed in his imagination. When James would be zooming around on his toy broom, Albus would spend his time looking through books with pictures of other countries. Pictures of the Jungle, of animals, the scenery everything. When he had announced he wanted to go to Australia to study there lily had pleaded with her parents on Albus behalf as well. Because she knew how much he wanted it and how much he actually needed to do it. She understood to a point why he wanted to get away. Besides from his desire to travel he had always been the sort of forgotten middle child. Both his parents loved quidditch yet he had no interest in the sport. And at busy Weasley/Potter gatherings he usually disappeared into the garden. He would climb a tree with a book and lounge high up between the trees. He thought no one saw him doing that but Lily saw. Lily always saw.

She sat up in her bed and stared out of her large window. Tears pricked in her eyes as she realized how much she actually missed Albus. She hadn't seen him in four years because the school he went to kept their students during summer. She got out of bed and softly walked towards her door. She pulled it open slowly to prevent any noise. Carefully she made her way across the corridor and entered James room. James room was decorated in gold and red, the Gryffindor colours. His room was a complete mess. Lily smiled softly, ' typically James' she thought. His clothes littered the ground and books and paper were spread through the room. James himself was sprawled out on his bed. He didn't wear a shirt while sleeping and today he lay on top of the covers. She tiptoed across the room and brushed some tears from her eyes. She pushed him softly trying to wake him up without making to much noise. "James" she whispered, "James please wake up." Sighing she gave him one hard pull making him fall out of his bed and onto the ground.

"Ooh" he groaned, then he saw me. "What the Hell lily? What are you doing in my-" She clasped her hand over his mouth and looked at him. When he saw the tears in her eyes his expression softened. "What's wrong Lils?" he asked her softly. Lily sat down on the edge of his bed, "I miss him James" she said with a shaky voice. Sighing James stood up and sat next to her. Putting one arm across his sister's shoulder he said: "I know Lils I miss him too". Lily sobbed and let the tears run down her face. "I know Lils, I know" James whispered as he pulled Lily closer to him. Brother and Sister sat like that for quite some time until both simply fell asleep hoping that soon they would see their brother again.
