A/N - Short little ficlet set not long after episode 5 ("Smitten"). Inspired somehow by Mina lying on a sofa in the Stacks with her feet up (wearing some incredible shoes, I might add. Anyway.) So... enjoy!

"Someone's made them self comfortable."

Mina smiled, moving her feet from the arm of the chair.

"I'm sure when you've run through a tunnel away from a large ball of fire you'll be allowed to sit down for five minutes," She said, and soon felt him sit down beside her.

"You do realise that happened yesterday, right?" Mina shrugged.

"I only had two minutes yesterday. I'm making up for lost time." Luke laughed. "How're you feeling?" Luke shrugged this time, resting his head on the back of the chair.

"Alright I guess. Nothing I can't handle."

"You're allowed to be a little sad, you know." Mina told him, resting a hand on his arm. "I won't think you're any less of a man." She smirked slightly and squeezed his arm.

"Well thanks, I'll keep that in mind," Luke rolled his eyes. "It's just…" He paused for a moment, frowning. "Have you ever felt sorry for them? I mean… I know most of them are killers, but… what about the ones that aren't?"

"They don't tend to get in the way."

"But even Galvin must be wrong sometimes."

"Of course. I think the incident with Tibbs proved that much." Mina said, then sighed. "It gets easier. I know Galvin's probably already told you that half a dozen times, but it does."

"Wish it would happen sooner rather than later." Luke shook his head. "Anyway, guess I shouldn't rush things. I've got a life of secrecy, smiting and a life of odd relationships to look forward to. Yay me."

"Oh I don't know," Mina said, smiling. "When you live a life like we do, normal relationships would get a bit boring, don't you think?" She gave his arm a final squeeze before standing and disappearing into the Stacks, leaving Luke to stare after her with an amused smile.

"I guess so…"
