Disclaimer: Not my sentai

Notes: Based off of a certain, er, scene at the end of Case 32, so spoilers apply. Domon X Sion, but this is me, so you probably already knew that.

Running away had been foolish.

But when he found himself confronted with someone much bigger than he was charging after him, it had seemed like a good idea. It wasn't until Domon caught up with him, slinging him over his shoulder like he weighed nothing that logic kicked back in and Sion realized he was doomed the second Domon learned that there was nothing but leftovers waiting for him come dinnertime.

"I really am sorry," he said again, trying to ignore the rush of blood from being upside down. "It's just everything started happening at once, and--"

"Apologize all you want. It won't help." Domon's voice was gruff as he tightened his grip. "'Sides, I got other reasons to keep you in eyesight."

He was probably getting himself in further trouble, but he was curious. "... Which are?"

"You nearly got killed today-- more than once. If anyone else wants to take you away, they'll have to get through me first."

Sion wasn't sure what was better: hearing those words spoken out loud or the matter of fact way they were spoken, like it was something they both already knew. Either way, being caught didn't seem so bad anymore.
