Medicate Me

The sound of harsh coughing pulled him from the sleep into which he'd unknowingly fallen. Dean's eyes snapped open, and he sprung out of the chair where he'd been slumped. Stumbling forward a step, he grabbed Sam's shoulders, pulled him forward slightly.
"Easy, Sammy. Here—take a hit off the inhaler." He grabbed it off the nightstand and helped Sam take a few puffs. "Better?"
Sam nodded wearily. A serious bout of bronchitis on the heels of a sinus infection had left him looking unbelievably worn.
"Let's get some of that prescription cough syrup on board too, okay?"
Sam grimaced then nodded eagerly.
