Luigi stood up on the rooftops of new donk city. The birds chirped and he could see clounds gather and split across the tower of blocks surrounding him.
It was a beutiful place to be, honestly he was so happy when his brother told him he could join oddysey. He expected a more...important role but it diden't matter. He was happy with the position he got.
It could get a bit lonely however. He rarely saw mario since his brother achieved the highest rank. The glittering gold balloons sparkled on his back as a reminder.
He got out a needle and popped a balloon, letting him float back to the floor. He felt nauseous hanging there for to long. Sighing he looked around. He could see peach's iconic position on another rooftop had disapeared.
That's wierd he thought. Pherhaps she was traveling, she did that alot these days. However mario had given her certain spots in case she got kidnapped again.
He ran his gloved fingers through his brown hair. Sighing.
"Hello Luigi!" A high-pitch voice spoke out. He jumped in surprise. He turned around and found peach standing there giggling at the brothers reaction. Her dress flowing in the mild wind. "Hello peach, are you alright?" He asked politely. Peach rarely spoke to him, pherhaps this was important.
Alarmed for the princess he stood up straight away. "Has bowser come back?" He asked curiously. "No no, I am sure he is still crying from getting rejected." She replied. The two shared a laugh, they haden't seen the kooper king in a while.
"No, I just came to say hello to my rooftop neighbour. If only we could communicate without one of us climbing down a building and back up another one." She spoke with a thinking expression on her face.
"Yes it is a shame. I often see you and I wish that we could talk." Luigi replied sadly. The two shared a moment in thought of how to deal with this issue. Peach sat down and watched as luigi paced across the rooftop for a number of times.
"Ah!, I have got it!" He suddenly exclaimed. "Why princess it is simple!" He spun the princess around in his arms as a friendly gesture. " Do we have whiteboards? One's of a large kind?" He asked enthusiasticly.
The princess tryed to keep in a laugh at luigi's sudden happiness. "Yes, I am sure we do." She replied suddenly understanding where he was coming from. "Then we will write on them in thick pen, short messedges. It won't give us a lot of conversation. But it is better than nothing!" He exclaimed.
The two climbed down the building, luigi helped peach at any tricky bits. "Thank you luigi!" The princess said when getting down the last bit. "It's no problem, you are almost better than me anyway." He replied. The princess held back a laugh, for it was true.
The two walked to a nearby store, it was a new one which had come up a year after peach's rescue. It read 'Necessities are Us'.
It was one of the more boring stores of new donk city.
Luigi opened the door for peach as they walked in.
After they had brought two thick black pens and whiteboards, the sun was setting.
"I guess this is goodbye for now." Luigi said with a sad tone. "Yeah but we will talk toomorow." The princess replied tapping the whiteboards. "Yeah, can't wait to try them out!" Luigi said with a smile. The two went there sperate ways for the night after a quick hug.
Luigi wondered if peach had found his messedge yet. He had written ' Princess penpal' on the back as a bad joke. He slowly closed his eyes and felt the cool breeze of night wash over his face, as he fell gently off to sleep.
The last thing he heard was distant laughter coming from somewhere, mabye a nearby rooftop echo across the city.
