We all now know that Link from The Wind Waker lives with his sister and grandmother. But what ever happened to his parents? Here's the answer:
One sunny summer day, Link was playing with Aryll at the lookout. Just then, Joel arrived.
" Link, Aryll. Your parents want to see you. They want to give you your allowance," Joel said.
Link and Aryll left immediately. When they arrived, they found their parents waiting for them with their Rupee bags at the ready.
" Link! Aryll! There you are!" Their father said. He looked much like Link, but taller.
" We need to give you your weekly allowance of 15 Rupees," their mother said. She had long, blonde hair. She handed them each 15 green Rupees. " Now that that's over with, let's have a picnic on the beach."
Later, all four of them were eating sandwiches on the beach near the pier. All of the sudden, Link saw many black clouds in the distance with lightning. Literally, BLACK clouds.
" Aryll," Link said, very worried. " Let me have your telescope."
" What's the matter, Big Brother?" said Aryll, handing him the telescope. Link looked through the telescope and zoomed in. It was a storm so bad, it was worse than a hurricane… and it was heading for Outset Island!
They had enough time to warn everybody on the island but the hurricane reached the island before they could get back to their house!
" Zill is still outside!" their father yelled so that his voice could be heard over the wind. " You two get to the house! We're going to help him!" Link and Aryll got in their house and shut the door tight. Link peeked out the door to see how his parents were doing. What he saw scared him so much he almost slammed the door shut.
He saw his mother kneeling on the ground with Zill in her arms. His father was holding onto his mother, making sure nobody got blown away. Then Orca arrived.
" I'll take the little one!" he said. " You two get home to your children!"
Orca picked up Zill and went into his house. His parents started toward the house. This was the most painful part to watch.
His mother lost her footing and immediately went into the air. His father was able to grab her hand, but could not bring her back to the ground. He was slipping and sliding. The next moment, they were both in the air and vanished into the clouds.
Link quickly shut the door. He could not watch this storm any longer, for now it had taken his parents.
" Link," Aryll said, very concerned. " What happened?" Link looked at his sister. This would be difficult to explain.
What happened to their parents after that? Not even I know.
