you're (not) the one I love

a/n: for danie

"I do," Andromeda whispered.

She didn't. The one Andromeda wanted to take as her husband was not the man standing in front of her. But she had no choice.

It was Ted she had dreamed of delivering her vows to. They'd even had it planned - a small, quiet affair was all they needed. The two of them had been so excited about their wedding.

But a letter had changed everything.

Andromeda's father had stormed into her bedroom one night with the note crumpled in his hand, demanding to know what this was. Upon discovering his worst fear had come true - his daughter was sending love notes to a Mudblood, he immediately betrothed her to Rabastan.

Rabastan, the coldhearted man with the skull and snake on his arm.

She knew she would never be able to love such a man.

But pureblood marriages weren't about love.

Andromeda didn't want this. She didn't want to have to consummate this union she was so adamantly against. She didn't want her life to consist of only sitting around and furthering the bloodline. She didn't want to have to worry that her children would end up as cruel as their father.

"I do," said Rabastan.

He kissed her, and Andromeda felt the wind carrying her dreams out the window.
