A/N: A Liley Oneshot. I wrote this to a song called Heartbeats that you can find on Newgrounds Dot Com / Audio / Listen / 201982

Just take away the caps and the spaces and that should get you there, if you want to hear. I recommend letting it play while you read, because I let it play while I wrote. The song just creates this great kind of mood...I don't know, it inspired me.

Disclaimer: I don't own Hannah Montana, or the song 'Heartbeats' that I mentioned above.

Enjoy.

The night was upon them and the moon was high in the sky. The world was at rest.

Except for one.

Wheels rolled across hard concrete, wood scraped against cement. Rubber hit the pavement and pushed off over and over again. Blonde hair whipped in the wind, held down only by the black beanie pulled down over her head.

She stopped, flipped her board up into her waiting hands.

Stormy blue eyes studied the palace before her. All was dark in the house.

Except for the lights shining from one room.

In the highest room in the tallest tower...

She slipped across the grass, doing her best to silence her footfalls, her board held tightly to her side.

Vines entwined the aged, white-painted, wood. She set her steed down carefully and grasped the nearest rung in her hand. She climbed swiftly and silently.

From the top of the ladder, she carefully slipped onto the roof. She crawled on her hands and knees, ignoring the roughness of the shingles, careful not to knock any off with her heavy skate shoes.

She reached the window. The curtains were drawn. She rapped on the glass lightly then moved to the side. She sat by the window, pulled her knees up close, watched the sky.

The window opened. The princess stuck her head out from between the curtains.

"Hello...?"

The blonde knight looked her way. She let her knees down and moved closer.

"Lilly," the brunette princess whispered. The knight moved to kneel in front her.

She reached up and stroked the princess's cheek with her fingertips. Her worn leather gloves caressed tanned skin.

The princess's eyes fell closed. She leaned in to the knight's touch.

The touch was gone in an instant.

"Lilly..." the brunette whispered. Her clear-sky eyes met the blonde's stormy blues.

It was about to rain.

"Lilly...What's--

"You're beautiful."

Her tanned brow furrowed. She looked surprised, she looked confused.

She looked a little red.

The fair knight took her hand. The touch was soft, gentle. Smooth leather held it, cold fingertips stroked it.

The princess tightened the grip, she entwined their fingers. The confused knight looked to the worried princess.

The blonde was hurting, the brunette could see it, could feel it. Her brave heroine shouldn't look so lost.

The blonde girl leaned forward. Soft lips touched the princess's forehead.

"You're beautiful..." the girl whispered. Her eyes were closed, but a tear escaped them. It rolled down her cheek and rolled onto the brunette's forehead. The blonde girl laid her forehead against the brunette's.

The princess watched as silent rain fell. She was crying now too.

The blonde's head fell to the brunette's shoulder.

"You're hurting," she whispered and laid a hand over her knight's heart.

"It's bleeding..." her knight whispered.

Miley swallowed. She felt for a beat and it was there, pounding and pounding and pounding. This was real.

She leaned back. The brave knight was a scared girl. Her stormy eyes were searching.

She had been brave. Now it was the princess's turn.

The brunette knight leaned in. She captured the blonde princess's lips with her own.

"No more bleeding..." she whispered, "No more."
