After #40 The Other

"You're not a freak."

Tobias moved his hawk eyes towards me, ((Uh, Rachel?))

We're at my room, the warm and comfy little space, after a long night with Mertil and Gafinilan—and a whole army of Hork-Bajir. We probably should get some rest, I'd have this math test tomorrow, but a small talk with Tobias before going to bed would do no harm. And I kinda needed it, to keep me sane after those fights. A moment of peace, you could say.

"Your speech back then. You said you're a freak and your girlfriend is a human."

((It's the truth,)) his thought-speak sounded embarassed after one minute and his hawk face blushed a little. Or maybe it's just me. ((Look at me. You're dating a hawk.))

"A cute one though," I added.

((A freak of nature.))

"Cut it out, Tobias, or I'll kick you so hard you can't even morph in an hour." That's kinda harsh, more than I'd intended. I talked a little softer this time, "You are perfect in any way. Human or hawk, you're no freak."

((Okay, I'm an awesome hawk then, and I have this Princess Xena as my girlfriend. How's that sound?))

I snorted, "Sounds great." And yawned.

((I think I should go now. Have a nice dream, Rach.))

"See you tomorrow, Tobias."

The red-tailed hawk flew out from my windows.
