The name's * SPIKE *!!!

No proper disclaimer this time. Just read the story.

"Quit trying to wind me up!"
"I'm not, I'm simply stating a fact."
Buffy was baby-sitting. She hated baby-sitting, especially when the baby that had to be sat was Spike. It wouldn't be so bad if he could defend himself, then she could beat an apology out of him. On second thoughts…why not do it anyway?
Spike looked at her matter-of-factly,
"Listen, Slayer, I can't help it if every time we strike up a conversation, you get in a tiz."
"I do not!"
"See? My point exactly."
Buffy stood up abruptly and turned the T.V. on,
"We're going to watch the telly okay? Quiet time, no arguments. Got that?!"
"Yes mum."
The Slayer sat down at the opposite side of the room to the defenceless vampire. She gave him one last glare, then turned her eyes to where Dr. James Gladstone was about to poison his patient.

** Dr. Gladstone fills the hypodermic needle and moves toward Miss. Jane Timmis.
"How're you feeling today Miss. Timmis?" He smiles at her, she looks nervous and turns her eyes to the needle.
"I feel fine, nothing wrong with me."
"Oh, but there is, Miss Timmis…"
"There is?…What?"
"You're ALIVE!!"
Jane Timmis screams and tries to get of the hospital bed but she's strapped to it by her ankles. The Doctor goes to the door and turns the key,
"There we are, no-one will disturb us now."
Jane screams for help but all she receives in return is the manic laughter of her killer, Dr. Gladstone.
She begs for mercy but he feels none for her.
"Ready to die?"
Before she can answer, he pushes the needle into her throat and injects the poison.
Miss. Jane Timmis chokes, her eyes roll back and she falls limply onto the bed.
Dr. Gladstone picks up her files and adds another sheet,
"Time of death? Oh I'd say about 2hrs ago. Wouldn't you Jane?"
He grins sinisterly at the silence he receives from his dead patient, and walks out of the room. **

Spike turned to his baby-sitter as the scene changed,
"Okay, now that was CRAP."
"I agree, mindless and brain-numbing."
"I'd have thought you were used to that by now, what with the Scooby gang and all."
Buffy leapt on him at the mention of her friends,
"You take that BACK!"
Spike struggled to get her off him in a non-violent way, there was none.
"Make me!"

Joyce returned home after work to find Spike on the floor trying to fend off the stake Buffy was holding, 3 inches from his chest.
"Buffy!"
The Slayer looked up to see her mother standing in the doorway, hands on hips.
"Do you always try to stake the kids your baby-sitting?"
Spike wriggled out from under his attacker,
"Watch who you're calling a kid."
Joyce looked at the reproachful vampire,
"You'd better get your stuff together, William, Giles'll be here in a minute to pick you up."
Spike grabbed his rucksack,
"There you go again!" He went to wait by the door, "And it's Spike! S.P.I.K.E, not William, or Will, or Bill even, SPIKE!!!!"
He opened the door and rushed out at the sound of Giles' car-horn.
Joyce laughed softly at the vampire's ranting, "He doesn't half lose him temper, does he?!"
Buffy smiled at her mother,
"I have that effect!"
