Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Percy's Big Mistake" from Season 8. Enjoy and comment.

Percy is a little green engine who works on Sir Topham Hatt's railway. He can shunt and pull really well.

He also can pull passengers, and freight cars as well.

But Percy's favorite job is carrying the mail, but he sometimes has way too much work to do.

One evening, Percy arrived late to Brendam Docks. The dock manager was cross.

"You're late again! This is the second time this week! I'm reporting this to Sir Topham Hatt!"

Percy was upset.

That night, Percy heard voices from his shed.

The voices were Sir Topham Hatt and Percy's driver.

Percy didn't want to listen, but he couldn't help himself.

"Percy has been late two times this week." said Sir Topham Hatt. "He must go to the scrapyards tomorrow!"

"Sir Topham Hatt is going to scrap me!" gasped Percy.

Percy was so worried about this, that he didn't sleep at all.

Next morning, Percy was still worried.

"Why is Sir Topham Hatt going to scrap me?" wondered Percy.

"He won't scrap you!" said Thomas. "You're a really useful engine."

Percy felt better.

But then, he realized something.

"I'm going to be late!"

And so Percy wheeshed away.

First, Percy had to collect pipes at Brendam Docks.

When he arrived, Cranky was still unloading.

"Hurry up!" wheeshed Percy. "I need to be on-time!"

"I'll take as long as I want!" snapped Cranky.

As soon as the pipes were loaded, Percy set off.

But what he didn't know, was that the pipes weren't tied down.

As soon as Percy reached the bend, the pipes slipped all over the track.

But Percy puffed on.

Next, Percy was to take tar wagons to the workmen repairing the road.

"Be careful!" called his driver. "Tar is really sticky!"

But Percy didn't listen. He was going too fast.

He whooshed down Gordon's hill at warp speed.

Then there was trouble. Gordon was waiting with the Express!

The driver applied the brakes, but it was too late! The tar wagons crashed right into Gordon!

Luckily, no one was hurt, but Gordon was crosser than ever.

"You are a very irresponsible engine!" snapped Gordon. "I am telling Sir Topham Hatt!"

Percy didn't like this at all, so he decided to run away.

As soon as Percy left, Sir Topham Hatt arrived on-board Thomas. He was very cross.

"Percy has caused confusion and delay!" boomed Sir Topham Hatt. "I wish to speak with him at once!"

"Percy ran away!" said Gordon.

"He thought that he was going to be scrapped." added in Thomas.

"We must find Percy." said Sir Topham Hatt. "You must all help!"

Thomas soon found Percy at Tidmouth Sheds. Sir Topham Hatt was with him.

"Don't worry Percy." said Sir Topham Hatt, "you aren't being scrapped. I told your driver last night that you've been working too hard. I had told your driver that you should pull the mail this week, rather than work at the scrap-yard."

Percy was happier than ever.

"Thank you sir!" whistled Percy.

Percy had learned never to listen to silly stories, even the ones he made up.
