Inara walked into her shuttle cautiously upon seeing the door slightly open. She half expected it to be Mal snooping through her things but she found the ships mechanic half asleep on her bed. "Kaylee?" Inara said sweetly, breaking the heavy silence that seemed to fill the shuttle, and waking the girl. "What's wrong?"
"Nothin', 'Nara, Cap'n said you were havin' troubles with the engine, so I came to ask ya what the trouble was. Oh, I'm sorry, 'Nara. I just always wondered what it was like to be in a companion's bed… your bed." Kaylee say up quickly moving to leave but Inara stopped her by laying a hand gently on her shoulder.
"That's right where I always hoped you would be. That's where you belong, baobei."
