Tribute to Rue
Written originally by runningwithhorses and revised by ilovepercyjackson
Through the trees
A good friend ran
For a little girl
Helping with a plan
On a net
Little Rue lay
While Katniss sang
Her last moments away
When the last breath whispered
From between her lips
And only when the lullaby ended with her last breath
Did Katniss lose Rue' grip
Flowers bloomed
A short distance away
They were gathered up
To be placed on the girl, a bouquet
Wreaths around her head
Looking so angelic
Flowers to cover her awful wounds
She will forever be our relic
Then our hero, Katniss
Walked away
The birds stopped calling,
And they took little Rue away
There are others, still
Who will meet unhappy ends
Before the Capitol is satisfied
With deaths of all our friends
But for now,
The Hunger Games live on
To kill for so-called 'justice'
Which is pointless and wrong
