Summary: Thoughts of Death.
All things came to an end, cities, people, Religions, humanity…
But Humanity still had a ways to go before they perpetrated their own extinction, until then they proved amusing.
Death had lived a long time, he was neither good nor bad, he was the executioner but not the judge; judgment lied elsewhere and Death had no cause to be curious about the one who weighed the actions of the souls that he collected and guided.
Death had been alone for a very long time; it hadn't always been that way. Once when the world was new and all things were still in infancy God had walked the world with him. God had brought new beings into the world and Death had taken the redundant ones away, they had been a balance.
Then God created the Angels, His special children and Death had watched Lucifer play pranks on Michael, he had watched Lucifer teach Gabriel to fly and Michael how to fight and then he had watched them tear each other apart when God vanished.
Unlike the Angels Death did not search for God, there had been no need for him to, then the Angels imprisoned him with the other Horsemen and Death hardened his heart to God's children, all of them, Angel, Human, and creature.
The Righteous Man thought that collecting the Rings of the Horsemen would destroy them but he didn't realize how War, Famine, and Pestilence were intertwined with him, all roads eventually lead to Death, and now Death had all four Rings.
It was a shame that the Angel of the Righteous Man had not thought to ask him where God was, after the hint that he had given the Man, but he could not interfere directly, it was not his place, he was merely the watcher and would be for as long as life existed in the world.
Soon, however, he would have to collect the one that had begun the world, the one who had walked beside him for a millennia, after all even God would Die one day.
But time is relative to one that cannot die; time means little when one does not age, when one cannot become sick or injured, when one eats for pleasure, and soon for Death may be eternity for Humanity.
And the Angels never realized that Death knows where everything that dies is, even when they try to hide.
So… that line about God Dying, well wouldn't Death be able to find something that can die?
Plus there had to be a time when Death roamed freely and well I figure Life goes kind of in hand with Death, so God is Life and Death is Death and that's my moment.
