Disclaimer: I do not own Romeo x Juliet.

A/N: This is my first time writing a fanfic so there be a few, okay, a lot of mistakes. But I hope you will enjoy it.

How could she have forgotten about me?

Is fourteen years really that long?

Should I tell her?

These questions still haunt his mind ever since that night when she did not recognize him.

The last time he had been with her was fourteen year ago when he shielded her from an arrow shot by one of Montague's assassin. Even though she was only two then, she couldn't have forgotten about those precious times that they had spent together. He took care of her, protected her, laughed and cried with her. Back then, he was like her brother.

After the murder of Lord and Lady Capulet, he was thrown into confusion and guilt for not being able to save them. He, who was trained and given the duty to protect the Capulet for as long as he lives couldn't face their daughter, couldn't tell her that he had failed to save her parents.

Or maybe she had found out?

Did she choose to forget me then?

But whatever the circumstances are, he would not leave her side anymore. When he had finally snapped out of his confusion, he vowed to her parent's grave that he will make sure she becomes worthy to be the heir, to avenge and restore the Capulet's former glory and of course, to protect her.

He is certain of the things he needs to do and nothing can change his mind but he just couldn't help but wonder the reason she could not recognize him. They had been together ever since she was born.

Everything had been fine until the massacre of the Capulet household.

Nonetheless, nothing can falter his concentration and have him break his vow. He will protect her even if it spells his end. And when everything returns the way they should be, he will ask her-

There was a knock at the door, waking him from his thoughts. He stood up from his bed and turn from window. "The door is open."

The door opens slowly revealing Juliet looking rather timid. "I am done packing." She said in a cheerful yet apologetic manner..

"All right. The carriage is waiting outside through the backdoor." He said as he leaves the room with Juliet following behind him with a hood over her head.

They left through the back door which leads to a secluded alley. He opens the door and lefts Juliet onto the carriage. "Thank you." Juliet said with an angelic smile.

For the first time in fourteen years, he smiled but not without lowering his head to hide it from Juliet. As they rode through the city, he glances over at Juliet and thought…

One day, you will remember me.

I will tell you.

It is me, Tybalt.
