Gilbert was being unusually quiet as they sat around the table for tea in one of Pandora's mansions. Not rising to Alice's attempts to provoke him, and not noticing the way his master was eyeing him with curiosity, it was clear he was deep in thought. About what, it was unsure, but Oz believed it was probably some petty worry that only Gilbert could concern himself over, because that is what he was, and always will be, like.

Sharon and Break engaged in polite conversation, and Oz turned to Alice as she consumed the large pile of meat she'd been treated to, in contrast to the sweet treats set a the table to accompany the tea. Gilbert stared into the distance as he cut the cake before him into squares, showing no sign of eating it.

"Oh Gilbert-kun~?" Break's voice cut into Gil's bubble of thought, and he allowed his attention to focus on Break with a questioning raise of an eyebrow.

The red eyed man waved his fork in Gilbert's direction, his gaze fixed on the cake Gilbert had successfully transformed into a series of geometric shapes.

"Are you going to eat that?"

Gilbert shook his head, but rather than push his plate towards Break, he skewered a piece of the desert on his fork and gently took his long-term lover's chin between his thumb and forefinger to keep him steady, before placing to the cake to Break's lips.

Break's eye sparkled in delight as he accepted the treat being fed to him. Not because of the action, but because the young man before him was still unaware of his slip up. The loving, and quite obviously couple-oriented, gesture was often performed when they were alone, and, until then, their relationship had been kept private, with an outward appearance of dislike maintained.

A small giggle, however, widened the area that held Gilbert's attention, and his focus snapped to Sharon. The girl had a hand placed politely over her mouth, as if to hide the fact it was her that made the noise, but the amusement was clear in her eyes. The Nightray dropped the fork, allowing the silver to clatter on the table before falling onto Break's lap, and hurriedly got to his feet, standing so abruptly his chair crashed to the floor.

Silence fell over the table and the blushing man searched the faces of those around them.

Break's expression was still amused as he watched his young lover, choosing to do nothing to help the man, instead watch him squirm. Sharon was still trying to cover her obvious amusement, and Oz merely looked confused. When his eyes settled on Alice, however, it seemed to prompt her mocking laughter.

"What does Seaweed head think he's doing?" she asked the room loudly around her laughter. "He's acting all soft with the clown."

Gilbert's complexion reddened further, if that were even possible, and he kicked the chair aside as he fled the room to avoid further mocking.

Xerxes Break laughed softly to himself as he watched his lover go, debating briefly whether to go after him, but deciding that perhaps the faceful of flying pillow he would no doubt receive from the irritated Raven could wait until later. Instead, he smiled politely at the rest of the tables occupants.

"Gilbert-kun," he explained, "is rather touchy about our relationship it would seem."

And with that he resumed eating the cake that was left behind.
