"Never say goodbye because goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting."

-J.M Barrie, Peter Pan

Growing up was not an easy thing to do. Letting go was even harder.

She didn't want to do it, not now especially. But begging him to stay had no effect and though she didn't really want him gone she demanded he go. Could he not here what she meant to say?

Stay with me.

Please don't leave me.

Maybe there was a hidden 'I love you' in there but it mattered not. Because he left anyway.

Her favorite story growing up was Peter Pan but she never understood why he let Wendy go. Now she did. He knew she needed to go, to grow up, to move on. Even if it hurt.

So she'd be Peter and he could be Wendy.

I own nothing

I was reading Peter Pan the other day and I kind of got inspiration for this little drabble. Hope you enjoyed it.
