And Here it is!

He would die here. They came from nowhere. How many were there? Five? Six? His vision began to fade...who was that? It looks like...but, no...could it be?

Just outside of Kyoto, Brown eyes dulled just as someone was passing by, and noticed a familiar shape in the darkness. How? He had raised him. But, no that was just his old eyes playing tricks on him again, wasn`t it?

"Aiyah, I should not have even come here. He doesn`t need me anymore, he is strong and has friends to keep him company and-"

"China—nii-san?"

China stopped. The familiar nickname dispelled any need for any more words. China rushed to the shadow in the bushes to find his younger brother bruised and covered in dirt in an attempt to blend in. He had taken a beating—bruises and cuts all over met China`s eyes.

"Aiyah," China gasped, "What happened to you?!"

Japan was already unconscious. With little forethought, China scooped up Japan in his arms and carried him to his car, not far away. China carefully set his younger brother in the backseat and buckled him in, while thinking, The world summit is tomorrow! I can`t leave him all alone, but I have to let others know so we can find the culprit! Aiyah!

He sat in the driver`s seat and started to drive to his house, debating his options, and, finally decided to call someone in to take care of Japan while he would debrief everyone else at the World Summit. But, who to trust? He finally decided on one of the most level-headed people he could think of, great with dealing with injuries, and great friends with him to boot. What was his name again? Oooh, he just had it—Not America-Canadia? No, Canada-yes! Canada! And, he is good at keeping a secret—China didn`t want the culprit getting any more ideas.

He hated to leave his brother in the care of someone else and not there personally to protect him, but he knew it would be better for Japan in the long run. He took Japan inside and cleaned, disinfected, and bandaged his brother`s wounds. Now, the call. Grrr. He dialed the numbers, walked outside and sat on the first step of his porch, looked up at the moon, and waited for him to pick up.

"Hello?" a quiet voice answered.

"Hello, Canada, this is China. I am sorry to disturb you, but I need to ask you a favor."

Canada`s soft voice was almost lost to China as he said, "Oh, it`s not a problem, China, what do you need?"

"Well, I was going to go visit Japan, and I knew he was in Kyoto for a meeting with his boss, so I went there, but I couldn`t find him. I had parked outside the city, and as I was walking back, I—well, I found him..."China explained everything he knew to Canada, and ended with, "...and I was wondering if you could watch over him while I went to the world summit tomorrow to start an investigation. The last thing I want to do is leave him, but I know that he will need to be in good hands while I get to work, aru"

"China, I know that you are trying to help him, but I don`t think they would really listen to you. If it`s all right with you, I`ll call my brother and have him start the investigation. Japan is his friend too, and he`ll know it`s serious. He has the ability to get it up and running, so you can stay and look after Japan. I will help him and you in any way I can from the world summit, and I`ll go to you if you need my help. Sound like a plan?" Canada presented.

"That sounds good, Thank you, Canada. I trust you to know who to trust with Japan`s location. We don`t want him hurt like this again."

"Of course, and you`re welcome. I will call you tomorrow with any new information that may come up."

"Until tomorrow, then, goodbye," China hung up. Well, now he can stay and take care of his younger brother. China sighed and walked back into the house and started to make some Steamed Herbal soup for himself, and for when Japan woke up, which could be a while yet.
