God of War II:
The Underworld Aftermath
By: Crimson Terror
Dislciamer: God of War not mine!
Kratos had just jumped off a cliff, falling to his death. At the bottom he would meet his fate by jagged rocks and boulders. He closed his eyes before the impact. His life flashed before his eyes, his wife and kid... it would all be gone in a matter of nano seconds.
The second he hit the ground he went cold. His torso had been pierced by a ginat rock. His spine stuck out from his back while his blood and internal organs gushed out. Kratos was DEAD. Suddenly, Kratos realized he would be entering the Underworld at any minute. He knew his eternity there was going to be anyhting besides a walk around town. He had killed Ares, God of War. But then again, the gods did all want him dead, but who's to say that the other spirits there wouldn't be mad. Either way, the Underworld was an eternal hellhouse for anyone who entered, and Kratos was one of the people to do so. Entering the Underworld , Kratos began to hear cheers and whistles. Every spirit their was actually HAPPY that Ares was gone. Most of the men had been killed in war, so the death of Ares made the pain of their now dead selves heal just a little bit inside, their spirits at least. Kratosbeagn to smile in honor of his doings. But he had just killed himself. Wasn't he going to undergo any punishment whatsoever? I mean taking your life wasn't the smartest thing you could do. But Hades did not care at all. Hades then walked up to Kratos, greeting him with a warm handshake.
"Hello there, Kratos. I am Hades, god and ruler of the Underworld." Kratos knew this must be an honor. He was shaking the hand of a god. Kratos then replied in a smooth voice, "Hello Hades. Why do you greet me so merrily. Should I not be punished?"
"Nonsense. You have done us fellow gods a favor. And so, in return, we, the gods, shall return our gratitude by granting you the honor of taking the place of the NEW god of war."
Kratos thought in his head about it. He then answered Hades. "Why, that is astounding. Me, Kratos, the new god of war. I would gladly take the honor. But how could a simple mortal like me become a god?"
Hades laughed, "Ha, ha, ha, ha! You defeated a god, then why can't you BECOME one! But their would be a price."
"What kind of price?" questioned Kratos.
"Well, more of a challenge. The gods and I have created twelve challeging tasks for you to complete. If you finish them you can become the new god of war."
"What are these tasks? I will most definitely complete them."
"Well, you will have to find out. But TO find out, you must become a mortal yet again."
"A mortal, a living, breathing human. I just commit suicide and I must return to life. It does not excite me, but I will still complete them."
"Great! Let the challenge begin!" Kratos then appeared on the cliff that he had just jumped off of a few minutes before. He would now have to discover what the tasks were to journey on, but that would have to wait.
