Emiya stared angrily at the hospital TV, holding her father's hand. "Don't be bemused its just the news! I'm Nadia Chamack and here live at the Mayor's statement after the devastative elevator supposed malfunction that injured 12 workers. Luckily no one was killed. The mayor was at Rosewood Industries one of the Mayor's partners doing an annual check up. Let's get a closer look. The mayor was speaking, surrounded by news reporters. "… Yes, the accident that happened was very sad, but no one was killed so I say that this wasn't too bad." Mayor Bourgeois answered a reporter.

"Mayor Bourgeois! What about the 12 workers that were in the elevator when the systems shut down mysteriously?" another reporter asked.

"Uh, well it was uh system malfunction that, uh," The mayor wrung his hands nervously, "wouldn't of happened if they had checked the controls properly as I asked them to!" The mayor finished quickly, "Uh, No more questions!" He fled inside his hotel and shut the doors.

"Absolute bull!" Emiya switched off the TV and flung the remote on a nearby couch. "It was caught on tape! The mayor was in the control room, while the other 12 employees were in the elevator going down to cover for the mayor downstairs because he was to busy trying to please his daughter! He knocked the controls which caused the elevator to malfunction and fall!"

"There is no tape, Emiya you are just upset." Said a nurse nearby.

"Besides he's the mayor he knows what he's talking about."

Emiya grumbled in reply.

" Don't worry dad I'll bring him to justice."

She squeezed his hand softly before placing it gently on the bed. She picked up a small box wrapped in gift-wrap with a card on his bedside. The card read:

To Emiya,

Happy Birthday!

Love Dad.

She pocketed it and looked at her father sadly before walked out returning home.

As she walked she couldn't get rid of the image of her father lying there on the hospital bed hooked up with so many tubes she lost count. Blinking out the tears of sadness and anger out of her eyes she whispered to quiet to hear, " I promise,

I'll make it right.
