I don't own Hetalia! end/AN/
America nearly slipped on his own bathroom rug running to Molossia's room when he heard the scream. He still had his toothbrush clenched in his teeth as he threw open the door, and spotted the child standing on his bed.
"Nooooo!" Molossia screamed, in tears.
America pulled his toothbrush from his mouth, saying, "What is it? What's going on? Are you okay?"
"Bite me! He bite me!" Molossia screamed again, eyes wide as he pressed against the wall.
"Is it a mouse?" America said, coming close to the bed.
Molossia just let out a sob, and pointed at his blankets.
America stared, scanning the place for any sign of an animal. He couldn't see anything among the stars and planets on the comforter. "What is it, Mol?"
"Bug!" Molossia gasped out, covering his face with his hands.
America looked closer, and finally spotted it: a group of three harmless ladybugs. He laughed in relief, and that just made Molossia sob harder. "Mol," he said, trying to calm him down, "Those are ladybugs. They don't bite."
"No, she bite me!" Molossia insisted, picking up one foot and curling the toes as he looked at the ladybugs with distress on his face.
"Hey, hey…" America scooped up the ladybugs, and said, "It's all right; ladybugs are good. You know they eat little bugs that destroy our plants?"
Molossia came closer, as if they were not dangerous now that America had them in his hand. He looked at them warily, saying, "No, she bite me here," and pointed to a mosquito bite that had swelled up quite a bit from scratching.
"No, no, that was a mosquito. Ladybugs don't bite," America promised, reaching out and taking his chubby little hand. "You want to touch them?"
"I don't wanna bite," Molossia said uncertainly, though he let his hand be pulled along.
"No bites, I promise," America said, and gently put Molossia's fingers on the ladybugs, "See, no bites."
"Oh," Molossia said, and he leaned in closer to look. When the ladybug's wings opened, he let out a gasp of surprise. "Merica! Look! Ladybug!"
America smiled. "Yeah. Isn't it cool?"
"Yeah," Molossia said, watching the ladybugs with awe. When it flew, he let out a squeak of delight. "Ladybug!"
"Yep, it flies!" America was glad he'd turned this one around. He caught the ladybug again, and he opened the window. "We have to let them go, though. They belong outside."
"But ladybugs!" Molossia protested.
America let them fly off of his fingertips. "Say 'goodbye, ladybugs!'"
Molossia said, "Bye ladybugs! Bye!"
Smiling at his little charge, America shut the window. "How about we get some breakfast, huh?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I eat a toast," Molossia agreed.
They headed for the kitchen.
