Lily was sitting on the couch, watching her baby boy be tortured by that...that THING! You couldn't even consider it a being anymore with what it has done to her baby! James held her, just as mad, but less fuming. He was hoping his son would get out of this. He sighed, thinking back on when he had actually traveled to the land of the living to talk to his son. He had been very mad at him. His son was about to end his own life for peet's sake! Well...James is getting ahead of himself. Let's back up, shall we?
Way back in Harry's 5th year...
Everything was falling apart around him. His best friends had abandoned him, and his girlfriend broke up with him. Every night he had a detention with the toad, and he just couldn't take it anymore! He had wrote a note and sent it to Hermione by Hedwig. For some reason Hedwig knew what was coming and stayed to watch. She was the only pleasantry in his life anymore. Harry sighed. He just couldn't take it. He was still in the Owlrey. The astronomer tower wasn't to far away, and with it's height he could easily jump, and be seen by anyone that wanted to take a picture of the boy who went splat. Harry chuckled at his own pun. Maybe that's what the prophet would read tomorrow? He wouldn't know. Maybe his parents would hate him for this? Ah, who cares?! They didn't raise him! Not that that was their fault, it was Voldemort's. Who would defeat Voldemort now anyway? It wasn't like it had to be Harry or anything. At this thought harry gained a smirk, and quick wrote a note to Voldemort. All it said was "You won't live to see tomorrow's sunrise." Harry laughed that one off. His cruel way of a joke. He knew it was wrong, but then again, the evil bastard deserved it. So he sent that one off with a school owl, and raced with his first smile in weeks to the astronomy tower. He quickly got on the ledge, but then he found he was frozen. He saw...himself? No. it was to old, and it was a ghost. So it was...his dad? Harry blinked. "D-Dad?" The ghost nodded, furious. Then, for one of the first times, Harry heard his dad's voice.
"Now, Harry. Don't do this." Harry looked shocked.
"H-How-" Before Harry could finish his question the ghost cut him off.
"How did I know?" Harry nodded. "I've been watching you." Harry gasped. "I know everything that has happened to you over the years, and I must say one thing." Harry looked at his father, pleading for something to guide him. "MAN THE HELL UP!" Harry blinked and fell backwards off the ledge in surprise.
"What?"
"You heard me. You're acting like a complete girl! You need to man up and face the facts. You're going to have to deal with these people, you can either do it in style, or as a complete retard." Harry nodded, confused. 'So, here's what you gotta do."
James then proceeded to explain to Harry how to defeat the toad at her own game, and they shared a father-son hug.
Harry later watched as his Dad faded away. He had work to do!
Present
Now, Harry's dad had watched him grow into a man. He defeated the toad with jokes, and Voldemort was next. All was well.
-I had fun with this.-
