Merry late Christmas!

I haven't uploaded in a while so I hope this suffices :) hope you all had a lovely day on the 25th, weather you celebrate Christmas or not. Best wishes for 2014!

It hadn't snowed yet. Frost coated the street corners and sidewalk's, and the bitter cold had driven everyone indoors.

Pythagoras stared out the window. Jason had left an hour ago with Medusa and Alex to pick up some stuff for the following day - Christmas day - and, really, Pythagoras was starting to realise just how attached he was to the man.

"Anytime you feel like helping, Pyth..." Heptarian called to him from across the room.

Pythagoras pulled a face at the other man, knelt down, seized a gift from the pile and began to wrap it. "Sorry. Looking out for Jason."

"You've been doing that for the past hour." A very pregnant Ariadne teased from the sofa, prodding him with her foot. Pythagoras blushed.

"Control your wife, Heptarian."

"Believe me, I wish I could." Heptarian laughed.

"Did he tell you what we're thinking of naming her?" Ariadne asked, ignoring the men's comments and patting her swelled stomach.

Pythagoras looked at her curiously. "No. Go on."

"Well, Hercules and Medusa have little Alexander, you and Jason have Theo and Melina -"

"If you're following the Ancient Greek theme, Ariadne-" Pythagoras warned.

"What's wrong with Elena?" She frowned. "You and Jason chose Theo's and Melina's names, didn't you?"

"With the surrogate mothers consent, yes." He admitted defeat.

"You three aren't arguing over names again, really?" Hercules emerged from the kitchen, bottle of wine in hand.

"That's for tomorrow!" Pythagoras protested.

Hercules shrugged. "You have three bottles."
The blonde man scowled at him.

"Oh, cheer up, my friend. It's Christmas! And Medusa and Jason are on their way back."

"Sure we've got everything?" Jason asked Medusa for the millionth time.

She huffed. "Yes, Jason. Why on earth are you so anxious tonight?"

Jason chuckled as they made their way down the street, hauling bags and Alex's pram with them. His breath fogged in the cold air. "I'm not. It's just...it's Theo's first Christmas with Pyth and I, he's not even a year old. Don't want him to get too overwhelmed, you know?"

"You managed fine with Mel." Medusa pointed out. Jason hummed in agreement, brow furrowed.

Medusa sighed. "It's no different to how it was with Melina, nor how it was for Hercules and I with Alex." Hearing his name, the little boy in the pram gurgled happily around a bar of chocolate. "Every parent probably feels the same when it's their childrens first Christmas." She smiled at him. "And you and Pythagoras are great parents. Melina and Theo are lucky to have you."

"As is Alex to have you and Hercules." Jason looked down at his nephew, grinning. The boy was getting big now, and soon wouldn't be needing a pram as soon as he stopped walking into things. A wave of emotion hit Jason when he remembered Melina taking her first steps unaided.
A fathers pride...

Within seconds of the door being opened, Pythagoras was on him. Stumbling, Jason hugged him back, laughing into the other mans shoulder. "Missed me?"

"When don't I?" Pulling back, Pythagoras kissed him quickly before turning to help Alex out of his buggy.

When the presents were wrapped and the food was put away and the wine bottle was empty, the party of six (well, seven, if you counted Ariadne and Heptarian's unborn daughter) began to separate. Jason waved them off by the door, one arm around Pythagoras' waist.

"So." Jason started when they had kissed Theo and Melina goodnight. He wrapped his arms lovingly around Pythagoras' waist. "Who's cooking tomorrow?"
