If she hadn't investigated the bus crash everyone would have believed it was suicide attempt of the bus driver or because of Terrence Cook, he wouldn't have held her at gunpoint on the roof of the Neptune Grand.
If she had just called him Cassidy like he wanted her and everyone else to do he wouldn't have tasered her.
If she hadn't been dating Logan, he wouldn't have told her about Tijuana and how Logan had left early. He knew Logan couldn't kill a fly. Killers can sense these things. He had just wanted to hurt her.
If she hadn't been distracting Logan at Shelly's party, he wouldn't have raped her. All night when he wasn't doing body shots off her or hitting on freshman girls Logan had been looking at Veronica with adoration and sadness. He was so upset about his love or whatever that he left with the girl that Cassidy had been talking to all night. This was his chance to finally prove himself to Dick. Veronica had ruined his chance at losing his virginity so he would take hers.
If it wasn't for veronica he would have been normal.
But as he stands here at the edge of the roof, listening to Veronica crying in Logan's arms, he realizes its not her fault. He was damaged before he met her. She was not responsible for the pain he suffered at the hands of Woody Goodman. She wasn't the reason why he blew up the bus. He could never be normal. He steps up on the ledge.
"Beaver don't!"
"MY NAME...IS CASSIDY!!"
"...Cassidy don't."
"Why not?" So what is it Logan? You asking because you genuinely care? or is it just out of obligation?
They don't answer and it breaks his heart. Then he realises that he doesn't have one either and jumps off.
