The Marauders were sitting at their usual place at the end of the Gryffindor table, one Saturday morning during breakfast. It was a normal day, people sauntering in at their leisure.
James, Peter, Sirius, and Remus were all eating slowly, taking their time, since they didn't have any classes to go to.
"Hey, Pads, that Ravenclaw girl from last week looks like she's got something important to say to you," said James, "Hey, how come you told her off when she asked you out? It's weird you know, you haven't gone out with nor have you shagged a single girl since last month. . . Didja lose a bet that I don't know about?" He continued, oblivious to the looks that passed between two of his best friends.
"No, Prongsie-poo I did not lose a bet." Sirius managed to get out before the girl descended upon him. She began flirting outrageously with Sirius, who just so happened to be in a playful mood, and therefore flirted back, meaning none of what he said.
James and Peter returned to their breakfasts now that they had seen that the world had not ended and that the apocalypse was not coming, the only boy who was no longer occupied sat and stared and Sirius and his silly fan. Well, actually it was more of a glare, followed by a low growl.
James whipped his head up when he heard that. He knew that Mooney was always a bit touchy and a lot more aggressive when it was close to the full moon, and since it was going to be just that in a few nights he wanted to make sure his friend was okay.
Seeing who his friends glare, and growl (he assumed they were directed at the same person) he was shocked. What had Sirius done to aggravate Mooney, it wasn't even ten yet. James was sure he was mistaken, but just then another growl escaped from behind Remus' clenched teeth, there was no mistake he was angry at Sirius.
Sirius remained blissfully oblivious to his friend's anger, until the unexpected happened. Remus pushed himself out of his seat, walked around the table, and stopped between Sirius and his bimbo. He grabbed the front of Sirius' shirt, pulled him up and planted a searing kiss on the boy's lips.
This caused gasps and whispers to ripple through the great hall. No one had seen this coming. The two Marauders continued their passionate kiss, oblivious to the reaction they were getting, until the need for air got the better of them and they broke apart gasping.
"But, Rem, I thought you said," Sirius started but he was cut off before he could finish by Remus' rough voice. "Screw what I said Siri, you are mine," he said, punctuating each of the last three words with a kiss.
"Yours," Sirius said with a sigh, "only yours, always yours"
The two boys walked out of the great hall, not noticing the shocked faces of their classmates, they only saw each other.
