Eden of the East, Saki/Takizawa & i would wait forever just to be with you
Takizawa is still Takizawa.
He still smiles that very same smile (the one that makes her cheeks flush and her heart race and, oh, the tears are burning at her eyes and--) he had when they first met.
When he meets her eyes, however, something lodges in her throat. She isn't sure if it's a sob or a scream or his name or something, because his eyes give it all away.
No, the way he looks at her gives it all away.
He doesn't remember her. He doesn't remember the kiss he stole or his warm hand and the boat or--anything. He's staring at her like she's a stranger, one who is welcome and received nicely and perhaps we've met before but not in great detail, and she doesn't understand how she can keep standing.
She wants him to kiss her like he did before. She wants him to grin obnoxiously and say "Fooled ya!" before pressing a quick, affectionate peck to her nose. She doesn't want this to end. She just want the hurt, the anger, the helplessness to let go of it's hold on her.
But when he smiles (it's that same smile) she can't help but smile back and afeel a little less alone.
"Do I know you?" He asks her, perplexed and lost. He reminds her of a puppy, scratching the back of his neck and playing with his hair.
"You may not remember me," she starts, fidgets, doesn't know if she'll ever stop smiling, "but I remember you."
So she takes his hand and wishes to rewrite their happy ending.
