They sky was painted with stars, and the trees were silhouetted by the light of the moon. Norway noted this as he stared out of the window. The moon shone through the window while the stars twinkled idly in the backdrop.
The Norwegian tried not to fidget too much. He didn't want to wake the sleeping Dane next to him. It was early in the wee hours of the morning, and Norway wanted Denmark to get at least a couple hours of rest before the Nordic meeting later today.
'If only I could sleep as soundly as he could,' Norway thought to himself, 'then I might still be sleeping.' The Norwegian had woken up and could not fall back asleep. He didn't know why he woke up, but he knew that he hated his random bouts of insomnia.
He pulled his legs to his chest and sat on the bed quietly, patiently waiting for the sun to rise. Norway turned to look at the Dane sleeping next to him.
Denmark smiled at Norway. His blue eyes were open and staring back into Norway's own eyes. The Norwegian stared at Denmark, rather surprised, for he had thought that the Dane was asleep.
"I'm sorry. Did I wake you?" Norway asked Denmark. Denmark nodded and sat up. He hugged his companion when the smaller male looked away.
"It's okay. You need your rest too," Denmark replied. Norway sighed.
"I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep," the Norwegian replied. Denmark lied back down, pulling Norway down with him. The Dane snuggled up close to the Norwegian.
"You should rest some. Come, don't let insomnia bother you tonight." Norway sighed and snuggled up close to Denmark.
"Fine. This is not to be mentioned to the others. Got it?" Denmark smiled at Norway.
"Anything you wish, Norge!" The Norwegian had to resist face palming, so he sighed.
'He never changes,' Norway mused as he lied on the bed, 'but that's why I love him.'
xXDarkDiaXx here! This came to me in the wee hours of the morning. Literally. I woke up quite early, and I couldn't fall back asleep. Then, this popped into my head, so I wrote it down! It's not fun being up for three hours trying to keep oneself quietly occupied.
