Jean held up two shirts, looking them both over questioningly.
"Kitty, pick one, pink, or blue."
Kitty was putting up her hair, she hadn't taken half the time to find an outfit as Jean, and now the red head could cause her to be late. "Uh, the pink, it suits you more."
Jean tossed the pink shirt on the bed, sliding her hand on the blue one. "Really? I was so sure that you would like the blue one."
Kitty sat down on the bed, fully ready. Rogue had long gone and Kitty didn't want to be alone, hence why she was changing in Jeans room. "It's okay, I mean it's your outfit, it's not like, it really matters. Just pick whatever you want."
Jean placed the blue shirt back in the wardrobe. "I know, it's just that, I was SO sure you would like the blue, it's just that I know how you feel about blue, and thought maybe you would rather see the blue, I think you and blue could work together really."
"Um, Jean.." Kitty looked up, questioningly. "I have like, no idea what's up with you, but fix it. The blue is fine, if you want the blue, then take the blue."
"But I think you want the blue. I don't want the blue, I already have the pink, but maybe you really want the blue and wont admit it. I've seen the way you eye blue, from across the room. I know you want the blue."
Kitty's jaw dropped "Have you been in my head? That is so like you, little miss perfect can't keep her nose in her own closet. Why do you care if I like the blue, which I don't, I find the blue highly annoying." Kitty lifted herself from the mattress, opening the shelf left of the door and pulling out a pair of sunglasses. "Besides, I think you need to worry more about your shades than how I feel about blue."
"What?" Jean had just finished pulling the pink shirt over her head. "There is nothing wrong with me, or my shades. You on the other hand have yet to admit how much you like the blue."
"I do NOT like the blue!" Kitty stomped her feet. "Besides, I have a pair of gloves, and the gloves tell me that you are not too happy with your shades."
"Oh so everyone has a fit when I accidentally listen to the gloves, but the gloves can just tell everyone my business after one little touch?"
Kitty smiled, "Well all is fair in love and war, too bad you don't love the shades as much as you thought you did."
Jean huffed "I love those shades, your gloves are crazy and they need to stay out of mine, and my shades business."
"Well, I can't help it if you think your shades are getting too clingy! Stop worrying about if I like blue or not, and tell your shades that they're getting a little to close."
A knock came at the door. "Jean?" Scott was on the other side, they had a meeting with some lawyers about school charges and time was running out.
Kitty giggled to herself. "Wow, you know, the shades really are clingy. You shouldn't keep them waiting."
Jean closed her wardrobe and grabbed her bag. "Well, I'll be sure to tell Lance how much you like the blue. And you be sure to tell the gloves to stay far away from me if she knows what's good for her."
The jeep was parked outside, waiting. Rogue left with Logan and the new recruits in the van, and Charles and Ororo took the limo. Scott had already got into the passenger side, and Jean pulled her keys out. "Kitty, I hope you don't mind. There wasn't enough room in the van so I told Kurt he could ride with us."
Kitty smiled "Like, why do I care? It's not like I don't have to deal with him every other day."
"Having second thoughts about the blue?"
Kitty phased into the backseat, angry. "Oh just drive already!"
Scott looked over as Jean started the car, "What's wrong with her?"
"Oh nothing, she just had trouble picking out an outfit."
"How ironic." Kitty latched her seatbelt, ready to go.
