A Love Game

Disclaimer: I do not own Prince of Tennis, it's characters, or it's story line. I am just a sick and twisted yaoi fan girl like the rest of you.

First love can be confusing, grand, scary, and a slew of other emotions that humans have not been able to depict with words. It is perhaps the purest emotion that a person can feel. While on some occasions, very few to be exact, first love is a person's only love; it is only through trial and error that true love may be found. However, first love and true love are often mistaken for one another. The emotions are so similar, the feelings so familiar that many feel their life is ruined when their first love ends.

Fuji felt this devastation after a three year, on-again-off-again relationship with Tezuka. Being a very level headed person in most cases Fuji knew deep down that this was not true love but even he confused the emotions of first and true love. It happens to everyone.

Fuji knew that he loved much differently than others by the time he moved to high school. He managed to keep it secret, but only for two years before finally, much like a girl, confessing his feelings to Tezuka who at first turned him down. Time passed and Tezuka began to feel guilty for leaving Fuji torn as he did. Try as he might though Tezuka could never get over the fact that Fuji was a guy.

Tezuka was far from homophobic. He was a believer that a person should be allowed to love the person that would make them happiest. However, for Tezuka, that person included fair, soft skin, a gentle voice, long hair, and of course the parts that differentiated a woman from a man. It was for this reason Tezuka would break Fuji's heart over and over again. He always felt guilty for leaving a broken Fuji behind, but deep down he knew that Fuji deserved a person that could return his love in the same manner.

Enter Inui, data collector extraordinaire. He knew things about a person that they themselves had yet to realize. Inui knew a person that was just as suited to Fuji's personality as Tezuka, but more likely to return his feeling. In fact there was a "97 percent chance that he would fit Fuji's personality better than Tezuka's."

Of course there were always other things to take a look at; looks, hobbies, likes, dislikes, and above all the physical connection that was possible. As far as looks were concerned Inui's choice was a looker, fair completion, fit, and very handsome. It wouldn't have surprised many if he became a model, other than his obvious distain for excessive human contact. This may make the physical connection very difficult, but if Inui was right if his choice was a passionate as he deduced there wouldn't be any issues in that department. It would be very inappropriate not to mention how true all of Inui's deductions were.

While looks and physical connection were not going to be a problem, it seemed that perhaps the differences in likes, dislikes, and hobbies would provide some kind of unnecessary tension on the relationship. Inui understood Tezuka's unwillingness to place Fuji in any kind of possible distress after their failed relationship but soon convinced him that their genuine like for tennis and their overall stubbornness would be more than enough to bridge the gap caused by photography and cats.

After much internal debate Tezuka agreed to a "fool proof plan" created by the ex-seigaku data master and what follows is a story of first love, true love, and the troubles routinely caused by it. Love is not something that comes without sacrifice and before love can be achieved, both members must be willing to play with the cards they have been dealt.
