Chapter 1

"Nezumi" just the whisper of his name made Shion's heart ache. It's been four years now and still there was no sign of Rat. No letters, nothing. "I won't give up, he promised we will meet again" He told himself "I will wait for you Nezumi, no matter how long it takes.

Things were going smoothly now, the survivors of No.6 and the West Block folks had come together to rebuild the city, with Shion giving them ideas and working hard with the Construction Committee, the City looks much better than before within those 4 years. But to Shion, four years felt like eternity, he miss him, he miss him so much. He want to see Rat again.

He was glad that everyone looks happy. This isn't No.6 anymore and that made him proud of the hard work they did. Returning home from work he met Dogkeeper, he was with Yamato, the baby He saved from the manhunt four years ago. They had come to pay a visit to Karan at her bakery shop.

"Hey Shion" Dogkeeper yelled out when she saw him at the door

"Hello Dogkeeper, Yamato" He smiled at her, yes her, turns out she is a female

"Uncle Shion!" running to hug his feet

Dogkeeper blush at the scene making Rikiga choke with laughter "Shut up old man" she snarled

"Shion my boy, look at you! You look all grown up and handsome too, girls will surely be head over heels for you, luckily we already have one here.

Dogkeeper glared at him but said nothing

"Come on Rikiga, stop saying that" He pointed out, looking away shyly when he caught the glimpse of his mum laughing at Rikiga's statement

"I want to marry Shion" came out a voice, it was Lilli

Shocked, they all turn and stared at her

"Lilli dear, you are not old enough, Shion is 10 years older than you which makes you younger" Karan laughs

"I agree" Dogkeeper continue

"I don't care. I really want to be his wife, who wouldn't want to marry onii-chan"

"it's because he is you onii-chan"

"They are not related by blood" Rikiga pointed out

Guys knock it off, its really getting awkward here, besides Lilli is too young to be hearing these things. Shion was feeling embarrass with their conversation but he was glad everyone was in a good mood. It doesn't hurt if they tease him. Beside Nezumi has been doing that a lot back then.

"Nezumi" He sigh, without realizing that he said it a loud. The thought of him made his hurt ache even more.

Both Karan, Dogkeeper and Rikiga felt sad for him. They know the history of those too, and they can see it in his eyes that he is hurting.

"He will come back Shion, he always will" Dogkeeper smiled to him

"I know"

*Four years later*

Shion was siting on the couch with his mum, they were exchanging some ideas about No.7 and how they can make it much more better than it is when suddenly Shion brought up the issue about Nezumi

"He's been gone for eight years now, what if something bad had happened to him. What if he'd already found someone else, What if..."

Enough with the "What if" dear, he will come back to you. I'm sure he will, besides he made you a promise to return, didn't he" Karan comforted his son. Her words were gentle and soft. A s much as Karan like Nezumi, she couldn't help but to feel bothered

Her son is right, eight years is long and she isn't getting younger, every woman at her age will love to see their children get married and provide them with grandchildren and a family

But for the sake of Shion, she must be strong for him. His son loves Nezumi so much and she doesn't want to upset him.
