Grey walls passed quickly by as Jack strode down the hall. His destination was just around the corner: blue door with a plaque next to it reading Dr. Daniel Jackson. He rapped smartly before opening it with a flourish.

"Heya, Danny-boy! What are you doing?" he asked, a large smile on his face. Daniel blinked at him blankly, obviously trying to pull his mind out of whatever he had been doing previously. By the photocopies and pictures spread across the desk, it was a translation of some wall or other.

"Jack," Daniel said finally. "What are you doing here?"

"Came to drag you away from your work, as usual," Jack stated, looking fondly at the man's askew glasses before reaching over to right them.

"Ah, thanks," Daniel murmured, wetting his lips. He continued more strongly, "Now isn't a good time, Jack. Later?"

"With you, later could mean next year," Jack groused, and hauled Daniel up by the back of his collar. "We're leaving now."

"To do what?"

"I dunno. Guy stuff. Maybe lunch?"

"Jack," Daniel whined, pouting. "This is important and—"

"It can wait," Jack replied haughtily, steadfastly ignoring Daniel's impossibly big, blue eyes.

"Can I at least—"

"No."

"But—"

"No."

"Jack!"

"Whatever you ask, my answer will be 'no'," Jack asserted firmly.

"Do I—"

"No."

"—really have to go with you? Thanks," Daniel said with a smile, and sat down again. Jack sighed in exasperation, though he had to admit he set himself up for that one.

"Daniel, I order you to get up and get out of this friggin' office!"

"We're not on a mission, Jack. I don't have to do anything you say, and no order you spout can change that."

Jack smiled evilly. "But I can manhandle you."

Daniel looked up, vaguely startled and disbelieving. "You wouldn't."

"I would."

"Wouldn't."

"Would."

"Wouldn't."

"Daniel. I would, I could, and I am."

Putting action to words, Jack grabbed Daniel's arm and tugged him out of his chair. Then he opened the door, and dragged Daniel out.

"JACK!"

Daniel's distressed shout nearly had Sam running to his defense. Then she saw Jack dragging the loudly protesting archaeologist down the hall. Jack took a second to wink at her as he passed her, and she relaxed.

Unfortunately, Daniel saw her too. "Sam—Sam, help me!"

Carter only smiled.

The two disappeared from her view to Daniel's anguished howl of, "SAM!"

She shook her head and got back to work. Amusement making her lips twitch into a grin, she thought, Like an old married couple, I swear to God.
