I felt a searing pain in my head, and then I opened my eyes, but all I could see was white. I turned my head to look around to gather my thoughts and to see if I could recall my memories of where I was and why I was here⦠But nothing came. I searched my thoughts trying to remember whom I was, Data! Now I remembered something, I was Data, but other than that I had no clue who I was and why I was here.
In the distance I saw another figure, who was just a black smudge in the distance mixed with red and other colors, a harsh contrast to the white environment around me, walking towards me, no, he wasn't quite walking, he was fading in and out in sporadic movements, not quite completely there. I'd look for a second at his head, blink, and then a small portion would be gone before I blinked again and it was back. I don't know where it came from, but suddenly I had a feeling I should have ran when I first saw this figure, but now it was to late.
Just when I started to get up ready to book it, he noticed me. I stood there like a deer in headlights, not willing to move even though my entire body screamed for me to run, escape, do anything I could do to be anywhere but there. He stared another second before I saw his fingers twitch, and I don't know why I waited till then to, but I turned on my heel and ran. I heard something whishing through the air and I turned around and held my arms crossed in a defensive position, I heard the sound of something shattering, confused I moved my arms apart, and in front of me there were white fragments of something crushed, blue strings in the air tangled together. I somehow knew it was now or never if I wanted to escape. I started running again, and suddenly there was a sharp pain in my left knee. I was still looking at white, but I knew that I'd fallen. I scrambled to get up, but my left knee gave out again and for the first time, I heard their voice.
