Summary: Amy and River have a brief conversation after the death of the Doctor
River stood looking at the flames engulf the man that she loved. She couldn't believe that he was gone it was almost surreal; she never believed that she would ever see the end of the Time Lords. But a nagging thought kept entering her mind as she watched the flames reach for the stars in the darkening sky; the Doctor lies.
She had told Amy and Rory that on many occasions during their brief interludes with each other. This just had to be another lie; a tale weaved by the Doctor for some twisted purpose but for the life of her she could not figure out why.
Amy's soft voice brought her out of her inner musing, "River, do you think this is some kind of trick?"
Turning toward the young woman she whispered sadly, "Oh how I wish it was, but I don't believe this is a trick."
"The Doctor once told me that there was an alien out there called the trickster, could it be him?" Amy kept questioning trying to find some logical reason for the Doctor's death.
"Amy, look at me." River demanded, "This is not a trick or anything extra terrestrial, the Doctor is dead."
"I don't believe it, I can't believe it, and I won't believe that this is the end, this has to be a lie." Amy stated shaking her head fighting back the tears.
Taking a deep breath River looked back at the lake and continued to watch the last vestiges of the fire engulf the Doctor, "I am sorry Amy but he is gone and dead men tell no lies."
