A/N: So I'm typing this while waiting for a friend, and I can't help but think I could have spent the last five hours working on this and uploading it. But I've never been known for being conventional, and to be honest I've run out of things to do, so why not type out this year's Halloween fic? I was actually stuck on ideas when I remembered Cecil's birthday is today, so it's a two in one deal!
A little trivia on this so people don't get confused; this is set in an AU(one I have yet to upload because it's too fucking long, but I'll get to it eventually) wherein Cecil is composer for Starish. I won't go over events that lead up to this, since I'll be doing the AU soon. So when that happens just connect it back to this. Oh, and that means Haruka isn't here either. Don't like it, you don't have to read either of them. Or you can ignore the plot completely.
.
"Halloween?"
Cecil tilted his head as Otoya nodded happily.
"You know it, right? A day where you dress up in costumes and get candy!" The red-head said excitedly. Syo nodded beside him.
"Not to mention you get to scare people senseless." He grinned mischeviously. "But the point is, can you write a song for Halloween? For all of us."
Cecil looked up at the ceiling, thinking for a moment. While Halloween wasn't something he;d never heard of, he didn't have much knowledge of it. But as a composer, he felt lik it was something he'd be able to do with enough research.
"I think I can?" He said hesitantly. "I don't know a lot about it, but if you can tell me more and find me some music to use as an example, then I can do it."
Otoya and Syo cheered, high-fiving each other happily. The Otoya's expression became one of confusion.
"But why an example?" He asked, looking to Cecil. The prince smiled awkwardly.
"I'm not very knowledgable on Halloween and what kind of melodies they use, so something to refer to while writing the song would be helpful." He said, picking his words carefully. Despite what Camus said about him having a good voice, he still felt it didn't matter if he couldn't speak properly. "... Did that make sense?" Syo nodded.
"Sounded fine. Okay!" He pumped his fist in the air. "Time to go hunting for Halloween melodies!"
Both boys turned to leave, before pausing. The both looked at each other briefly, before tackling Cecil into a hug.
"Happy Birthday!"
Somehow, Cecil didn't mind that he might have a long night ahead of him.

A/N: I was running out of time and the original draft was turning out to be too long. Plus it's oddly hard to write Cecil, because while he talks in legible sentences, whenever I try to type out his dialogue it ends up looking weird... which I why I go for sentences that are easy enough to understand yet slightly misleading. Cecil is a difficult child.
