"Blimey Hermione, I've never seen a boat this big before," said an awed Ronald Weasley. His head craned back to take in the six-deck cruise ship.
"Honestly," Hermione replied, checking their luggage, "This is the smallest of the vessels we could have travelled on."
Ron looked at her in shock, then shook his head. "They get bigger? What will the Muggles think of next?"
Hermione huffed. "Let's go, my parents are already on board."
Ron followed Hermione up the gangplank onto the ship. The sea air blew in a nice breeze, ruffling the Order of Merlin, First Class, that he wore. Hermione didn't like that he never took it off but dropped the subject when he pointed out that he was the first Weasley to be awarded one.
"12B, 12B…" Hermione muttered as the pair walked past doors. "Should be around here somewhere."
"Perhaps we are on the wrong side Hermione," Ron piped up, stopping to lean against a railing, "These numbers are all odd."
Hermione whirled around, checking the doors. Her shoulders slumped and she fell against the wall. Ron left his bag and got beside her.
"Hey, I know you are stressed," Ron said as he pulled her close and began rubbing her shoulders, "but this idea to reconnect with your parents? It's brilliant."
Hermione shook her head, eyes teary. "I'm a horrible daughter, Ron. Was it right for me to wipe their memory of me? Was it right for me to restore it?"
Ron put her head on his shoulder, listening to her argue with herself. She had been going spare the whole last week, simultaneously organizing this trip and avoiding her parents. All the emotions she had been repressing were coming to a head now.
The couple stood against the wall, listening to the sounds of the harbor. Finally, Hermione lifted her head from Ron's shoulder.
"Thank you," she whispered, "Now let's drop our bags off. We are meeting my parents at the pool."
"There is a pool on the boat?" Ron wondered as he grabbed his luggage, "You are ripping my robe, Hermione."
