Summary- Danny upset Lindsay. Now Lindsay questions if Danny really trusts her with his life?
"Hey Doc, have you seen Lindsay?"
"I think she went to Central Park with Mac for a DB. She still mad at you?"
"How can you tell?"
"Come on Danny. If you haven't seen your wife that usually means you slept on the couch and she left before you woke up."
"And you're a CSI, why?"
Hawkes smirked. "Give her time. I hate to tell you this but I'm on her side. You went off and did something stupid and almost got hurt. You didn't tell anyone, not even her, and if she didn't know you very well I have no doubt you would have been killed."
"But I couldn't tell her. They would have killed her." He sighed. "I've been trying to tell her but she doesn't answer her cell and doesn't even look at me for five minutes at home."
"Danny, give her time. She'll come around. She loves you."
"Thanks Doc. What are you working on?"
"Oh, Stella's evidence. I'm comparing the bullets then I gotta dust for fingerprints."
"Here, I'll help til Lindsay gets back."
"Lindsay? Lindsay?!"
"What? Oh sorry Mac."
"You ok?"
"Yeah."
"No, you're not. You're still mad at Danny."
Lindsay sighed. "I can't believe he couldn't trust me. I almost lost my husband Mac."
"I know Linds but he must've had a good reason he didn't tell anyone."
"I trust him with my life. I can't believe he couldn't trust me with his."
"Well, I'll tell you the first thing you should do when you get off your shift is to go talk to your husband. For now let's get back to the crime scene."
Lindsay gave a small smile. "Sorry. Thanks Mac."
"No problem."
Lindsay finished processing the scene and headed back to the lab. Danny spotted her and rushed to her.
"Hey Lindsay, we need to talk."
"Danny I can't right now… but when my shift is over I will. Ok?"
Danny nodded. "Ok."
Lindsay opened the front door to see her husband sitting on the couch obviously waiting for her.
"Hi." Danny said, standing up.
"Hi, Danny." Lindsay answered, shutting the door and putting her coat away.
"Danny I…"
"No, let me talk first. Please?"
Lindsay nodded, sitting down.
"Lindsay, I'm sorry if I scared you, but I had to go alone. They would've killed you and you damn well know I would never let that happen. I didn't plan on getting backstabbed but I had to go."
"Danny, if I hadn't made the connection I could have lost you."
"I know but…"
"No, it's my turn. Danny, I love you and I don't want to lose you… but I understand your reasons. You have a past with them. I'm sorry for overreacting. Just, please trust me. I can take care of myself and we can take care of each other. I trust you with my life; can you trust me with yours?"
"I trust you with my life Lindsay." Danny said, looking her in the eye.
"Does this mean I can sleep in the bed now?"
Lindsay chuckled. "Yes, you can. It was starting to get cold without you."
Danny smiled. "I love you."
"I love you too."
They shared a kiss of forgiveness.
