It all started 2 years ago... the legacy with a Human, a Wild Dragonite, and a Bond that created a strong relationship... started then.
I was walking home from college when I saw a couple of fire trucks and police cars heading towards a cloud of smoke. I was praying for the people who were in that
fire, like I usually do, but... something was different.
As I was getting closer to my house... the smoke was getting closer, and closer. I thought it was just a barbecue smoker going awry at a house close by... that's when
I saw the most chilling sight in my life!
My house was burnt to an ash!
I asked the officer, "what happened?" he asked, "Is this where you live?"
I replied in the following manner..."DAMN IT! JUST ANSWER MY QUESTION BECAUSE THAT WAS MY HOUSE!" "it was arson," said the cop, "somebody burned your house
down, and your family was inside. they never made it out..."
I was feeling extremely queasy when I heard the words come out of his mouth... I thought he was lying, or I thought I was having some sort of nightmare... but
nothing could resist the fact... that my house, my family, and my life... were dead...
2 months have passed, and things were slowly moving back to normal... a new house, and a new life... the only thing missing was a family...
I went on a hike along a mountain path when I heard a noise, like a noise of pain and struggle... I figured I'd checkout the noise. I went through some tough shrubs
and trees in the dark forest, until i saw a light shining through the shrubs... it was a grassy clearing up ahead. I thought I heard a noise coming from around there, so i
was calling out to make the animal make the noise again so I could get an Idea of where to look...
The noise was made again and it sounded like it was coming from between some trees, so I followed it. What I found was not at all a real animal, but a Dragonite...
caught in a Bear trap...
"Holy Shit!" I thought in my head... The Dragonite looked at me with pain,and I realized it needed my help... I thought what would happen if I helped it out of the bear
trap, would it be kind and leave me be? or would it kill me on sight? I thought I was nuts... but i helped it escape. The Dragonite limped over to me, and by that time I
thought was was dead meat, and it hugged me. I was so confused why it was hugging me... then something amazing happened.
"Thank you!" The Dragonite said, still hugging me. "YOU CAN TALK?!" I exclaimed, "now i must be going crazy..."
The Dragonite looked at me confused and said again, "You've never seen a talking animal before... have you?" I said, "Not in my life..." "well there you go!" said the
Dragonite, "Kind of weird I know... but you'll get used to it..." "what were you doing here?" I asked, "You must of had a reason to come close to civilization..."
The Dragonite sat down and said, "To look for a home where I'm not alone... you see... my family was killed." I said, "surprisingly 2 months ago... my family was killed
too, in a fire." The Dragonite said, "that was around the same time too, 2 months ago, my family was killed by hunters, leaving me the only survivor remaining..."
"Huh," I said, "we must have a lot in common then." "Yep," said the Dragonite. Then I got an Idea, "Dragonite..."
"My name's Kai," it interrupted.
"Okay, Kai, Why don't you come live with me? I'm feeling quite lonely myself without anybody to talk or to have fun with..."
Kai said, "Are you sure?" "Yeah, I live on my own anyway..." I said. "Okay!" Kai said happily for a split second the a show of concern appeared on his face, "but my leg
is wounded..."
"Don't worry," I said, "If you can fly... I'll guide you to my car, and I can drive you home!" "Okay!" Said Kai.
Kai flew me to my car and we headed towards my house... and That's how I met not just a friend, but a member of a new family, for a new start on life, and a new
world of Adventure was beginning to unfold!
