Note: the title is romanji for the word flute in Japanese. I'm sure bamboo flutes and other flutes have different names in Japanese, but Tayuya played a metal flute in the anima and thus it would be furuto.
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto
Furuto
For as long as Tayuya could remember she always wanted a flute. She was entranced by their beauty and their sound. Growing up in Otogakure flutes and other instruments were commonplace items, yet they were expensive. She was an orphan, and had tried to steal one multiple times, but to no anvil
One day the leader of Otogakure approached her. He promised her a flute if in return she fought for him and served him. She agreed and he took her into his care. He presented her with her own flute and taught her how she could fight with it and she was grateful.
She watched the others under Orochimaru's care fight and realized they were brutal almost like everyman for themselves. She knew she wouldn't last as a girl so she began to give up her girlish ways, and tried to at like the others.
She grew older and soared above the rest. She acquired a dirty mouth and didn't rely on anyone. Orochimaru soon introduced her to her team calling them the sound four. She immediately began to make fun of them, treating them like the ground she walked on. It was her new personality, cold, uncaring, and ruthless. It was the only way she had found to fit in among everyone else fighting for Orochimaru's attention.
Her teammates didn't know how she could have such a dirty mouth, and yet play something as girly as a flute. She was awful protective of her flute. Kidoumaru accidentally broke it once and was surprised he had lived through the beating she had given him. He was forced by her to buy her a new flute. She of course would settle for nothing except for the most expensive and best flute ever.
As Tayuya slowly succumbed to the darkness after her fight with Shikamaru she realized that she had never really wanted to fight or act like she had. All she had ever wanted was to play her flute and that was it. She realized that the children of Oto would never get to live like they wanted. Every one of them were practically orphans who were won over by Orochimaru knowing what they wanted most. She was sad to say she was one of them.
