Author's Note: This is actually my first ever fanfiction! I decided on Talon and Warwick because I like ships that are very uncommon, and also Talon is my main in LoL, while Warwick is my best friend's main! This is only the first chapter, so there will not be that lemony goodness until later chapters. This took me about an hour, so I hope you enjoy this "beautiful" introduction I made. *Coldsong*
Shards of bricks fell as Talon jumped from the railing of a factory to the inner piping of an abandoned academy. Zaun was dangerous after all, especially in the downtown part. The Blade's Shadow knew how crucial his mission was; he couldn't let the Du Couteau house down after all these years. His general, his father, was close, he could just feel it in his core. A desire to see possibly the only one he has ever considered family. Or, to fear the worst, he could finally track down and kill the bastards who killed him.
"Gods dammit" muttered the Noxian assassin as he noticed the Zaunite thugs walking casually down the street below as Talon overlooked the edge of the structure he was on. This was defiantly not going to be an easy task. He flipped over a large wind tunnel on a rooftop with verve as he landed on his feet on the other side of the rooftop, managing to sneak past the guards. He smirked slyly as he shimmied down a bent water spout.
He made a quiet sound as he landed on the concrete ground, readying his wrist blade for any dangers to come. Zaun's air was thick and hazy with pollution, which had a foul and unpleasant smell to say the least. Talon slowly walked over to the entrance of an alley, knowing the fact that there could easily could be criminals, or much worse, beyond that dark corner. Drawing in a deep breath from his diaphragm, The Blade's Shadow quickly stepped into the alley, not knowing what to find or expect in it.
It was just… dark. Beyond a few feet in front of him was just pitch black. That is until he noticed a flashing green light in the distance. It was faint, short, and random, but it slightly revealed the alley, which Talon could now tell was very long and wide, with multiple doors along the sides of the skinny walkway. "Mph" groaned Talon, as he realized there is a big chance he could learn some valuable information from whatever is down there. Who knows, maybe this will even lead to his General's whereabouts. He couldn't have been more wrong.
The assassin lightly treaded along the cobblestone ground as he ran through the ally, letting his other senses besides his sight take over. He heard rustling in the distance, and also what seemed like a faint conversation between multiple people. Confused as to what their dialogue was about, Talon decided to eavesdrop on them for information whether it be for his or Noxus' benefit
With careful footing and the slyness of a fox, he ran as fast as he could down the ally until he saw the green light in full force. It wasn't blinking anymore and it seemed to becoming from a street lamp. He must have ran across the alley and onto a new street.
"Well, where the hell did he run off to?" asked a short, skinny man with a bald head and goggles with a sooty lab coat, its white complexion old and worn.
"I don't know, where would you think a mutated fucking canine would run off to? That malformed beast could be right behind us at this very moment!" responded a man that was taller with more build and wore a rough leather jacket with stained jeans and boots. He cracked his knuckles as he seemed very frustrated at the situation.
All of this heavily interested and confused Talon. A mutated canine? Ran off? What is going on here. "Probably another one of Zaun's genius experiments. God damn hell hole. They always somehow make a monstrosity more dangerous than the last." He thought as he was crouched behind a rusty dumpster that smelled of gasoline and burnt flesh. How pleasant. The two men then grabbed a large metal devise that looked like a large glass cylinder with two metal pieces closing it at the ends. It had a large blue rod in the center of it that glowed a strange teal color.
"Gods dammit Garrick, help me!" yelled the angry larger man as he lifted the top of the cylindrical device off of the concrete ground. The smaller man nodded as he walked over to the other end of it and lifted it, clearly struggling. They heaved it over their shoulders and started to walk from the end of the alley by the dumpster to the other side of the street. Talon hastily followed, taking care as to not be seen.
What could that device be used for? What did it do? Was it dangerous? Did it have something to do with that 'mutant canine' the men were talking about earlier. "Markus uh, what *heave* are we going to tell the boss when he finds out that we lost the beast?" asked the one who was called Garrick earlier."
"Don't question me! That wretch doesn't matter at the moment. All that matters is that we god what we came for, the Cryocore X-004" said Markus as he and his compadre carried the Cryocore into another valley, this one less vast and more wide than the previous one. The Blade's Shadow thought of killing the two men once they entered the valley and stealing the device, and would most likely give it to the Noxian officials until further notice. But that would cause some complications and risks, like how there might be more than two of them, and Talon didn't know how the hell to work that thing.
Garrick and Markus kept walking deeper into the alley with the Cryocore X-004, the assassin not far behind them. It eventually led to a large opening between to rundown buildings that had a large factory in the center of the opening. It was rustic and very dirty, pipes running along its surface like wildfire. The two men walked over to the entrance as they heaved the device onto the doorstep and pushed over a metal slate next to the door on the wall that revealed a keypad. Markus tapped a code on the pad that stated 746433-623 (SINGED-MAD).
The door then made a click sound as Garrick heaved it open, revealing a large first level floor with an access amount of machinery. The two men then carried the Cryocore X-004 into the factor and just as the door was about to close, Talon slid into the door before it did, undetected by anyone in sight. He then ducked behind a textile machine that seemed to be used to make extra lab coats, each one with individual markings that somewhat related to Zaun's insignia.
The two men then brought the Cryocore to the middle of the room and brought it to a large conveyor belt that seemed to be a perfect fit for the cylindrical apparatus. They waited for about thirty seconds when Markus looked impatiently at Garrick.
"Well, where's the boss?" he asked in a semi-demanding voice.
"I-I do not know. I thought he was going to show up at midnight!"
"Clearly not you oaf! Let me see your tracking instrument!"
Markus snatched a box shaped device that had a large antennae on the top. He looked at it carefully, and after only a glance he lifted Garrick right by the neck.
"You fucking pathetic waste! The boss assigned us to show up an hour ago! He is going to be so pissed!" Markus screamed at the shaking scientist. He threw down Garrick as he smashed his fist into the Cryocore's base, not even leaving a dent in it. "Damn he needs to learn self-control" thought Talon as he notices a bucket of large spheres that were glowing blue on the right corner of the factory. The bucket had a large warning sign that stated in bold capitol letters, "DO NOT TOUCH WITH OUT CONSENT OF THE BOSS. THESE CRYOSPHERES ARE HIGHLY DANGEROUS AS THEY ARE FULL OF POTENT CHEMICAL ENERGY. FOR THE CRYOCORE X-004 ONLY!"
He quickly hustled over to them, very quiet and with precision he rolled over a machine with an unnecessarily large amount of razors protruding out of its sides. He then grabbed the bucket of spheres, which he could now see where covered in small spikes, and snuck them over near the door. "These could be useful" thought the Noxian assassin as he thought of all the ways Noxus could use what ever these were as a power fuel.
"Forget it, just operate them with out the boss, right Markus? That… could work right?" asked Garrick innocently as if he were a small child trying to fix a broken vase. "Markus sneered at him and chuckled.
"You know, sometimes I wonder how you even got this job. Your lucky that I am even considering your vacuous idea, as its all we can do to even have a chance at saving our asses." He said, shaking his head in disappointment. "Okay then, I will grab the Cryospheres!" said the smaller scientist. He walked over to where the bucket used to be before Talon's thievery. Before he even hide time to react to the missing fuel, Talon hurried to the opposite side of the factory, away from the door, to reduce his chance to be found out even further.
"No, no, NO!" screamed Garrick as he realized his dilemma. He frantically searched around the corner and the desks around it, trying to find the bucket full of the precious materials. "What now…" sighed Markus, who was starting to consider "dealing" with his compadre himself. He walked over to the nervous man who was still desperately searching for the bucket of Cryospheres.
"Honestly, I don't even know how you are failing at this. It's so fucking simple, Garrick. All you had to do was keep track of the god damn Cryosphere, bring it to the factory at the bosses assigned time, and fill it with fuel. WE COULD HAVE STRUCK RICH ONCED SINGED FROZE ZAUN'S DOWNTOWN STREETS OVER WITH CRYOMATERIAL! HE WOULD HAVE PAYED US BIG BUCKS IN GOLD GARRICK." Screamed Markus as he moved his pathetic partner out of the way to search for them himself.
Singed. Talon new that name from somewhere, he just couldn't put his finger on it. Wasn't he the crazy chemist who chemically bombed multiple villages in Ionia? It didn't matter, Talon got at least something out of this dramatic situation. He also got a good laugh out of it, as they constant bickering of the two terrible henchman was hilarious.
"SHIT!" screamed Markus. He held his now bloody hand as he huddled in a fetal position. "Did you cut yourself?" asked Garrick, noticing the large gash on his compadre's palm. "Yes! On one of the foolish blades that's all over the shiv maker! That is the most ignorant way to protect a machine from thieves I have ever seen!"
While the two were dealing with Markus' wound, and while The Blade's Shadow was brainstorming a clever escape plan, about three miles way howled something that would change Talon's life forever, and it was not bad. In fact, it was the total opposite. Something that would fill the empty space in Talon's heart that at first he thought could only be filled by his General, his stepfather. That something stood on two legs, and was a very tall, fairly handsome, wolf.
Author's Note: Phew! That was fun. Keep in mind I will be updating this story every weekend with new chapters so stay in tune! Also, this really awesome cover picture is all drawn by an artist named Drks. He is very talented so all credit goes to him! If you want to see more of his art, here is his twitter, /DRKSART?lang=en. Next chapter should be when Warwick and Talon meet.
