Over time , my love
Something was troubling Yami. He had a huge palace, servants and ruled all Egypt but still wasn't happy. He missed his hikari. But Egypt needed him so he had returned to aid his country. Still he felt a bit guilty for making his hikari sad. But he knew that Yugi understood he had to go. He tried not to think about it. The thoughts just popped into his head and didn't go away. No matter what he did. He needed his hikari. They were the same soul. Neither could survive without the other. But what was done was done right? Even his best magicians couldn't reverse the decision. And what would Egypt do without him?
A dark laugh echoed in his chambers. Yami frowned. No one had come in. As far as he knew he was the only one there. But the dark laugh obviously told him different. "Who are you? How did you get in?" he shouted angry.
"My my what a temper Atemu. I heard you had a problem." The voice replied. Atemu listened carefully for this person's location but the voice seemed to come from all direction.
"Who are you? How do you know my name?" Yami asked. No one except his most trusted servants knew his true name.
"You want to see you Hikari. Yugi Moto is his name I believe?"
Yami was confused. This person knew way too much to come from Egypt. Maybe this person could help him. "Are you friend or foe?"
"Neither, in whatever you want me to be. Through out time I have many names. Savior, betrayer, murderer, innocent one, but I have to stop there."
"Could you give me Yugi?"
"Now you're asking the right question Atemu. Yes, at a cost."
"What do you require?"
"That I use you as a host for a short time. That is all I need and you can see your precious hikari as much as you desire. But by the full moon you must decide. Should you stay with Yugi or return to Egypt? After 12 the door between the realms is sealed forever. Your friends may not pass again as they could before."
Yami thought about it. It was risky. To shut the door was very risky. But he wanted to see his hikari so bad. "I agree" he involuntarily replied knowing he had made the wrong decision. Fate had decided that they should not see each other again and to play with time and destiny wasn't right.
"Come with me pharaoh. Instruct your servants to leave you alone no matter what they hear."
Yami nodded and locked the ceremony room. Suddenly he felt something pierce his side before blanking out as the new spirit took over. The new spirit muttered a dark spell and Yami screamed out in pain. He felt like he being torn in two. The new spirit smiled at his pain. Finally a gold light engulfed the room and the 2 spirits were melded into one.
The pharaoh smiled to himself "Now you are part of me what shall I call you?"
"Shadow."
"When are we going shadow?"
"Right now if you desire"
Yami put on the millennium puzzle and didn't notice shadow flinch ever so slightly.
"Direct the way Shadow"
