Rainbow Dash stood leaning on the railing, the machine purring seductively from below, beconing the pegasus to slip into it's steely embrace. The mare starred at the hellish construct below transfixed as it's grinding gears turned without direction she longed to give them a purpose, as she had with Scootaloo. Rainbow winced as she remembered her protege's final words, a symphony of conflicting mental lectures kicking on each as unhelpful as the opposing. Dash could hear her words as if they were being whispered into her ear like sweet nothings,"You have beautiful eyes" her victim's voice like a horse whisper and a shrill scream crossed with a parental scolding. Dash knew what she heard was warped and twisted, but it stung her like a blade in the chest. She thought of the things she had done in the six months since she had received that delivery of pegasi, of failures. She had made that deal with the harvester, to secure a larger amount of spectra, workaholic grief had made a triple in productivity, she had made a reserve of spectra incase there was ever a shortage of welps to grind up. She couldn't really believe that she was about to throw it all away for some worthless filly. She pulled the spectra from her pocket, she had kept it a memento for the champion failures, the only one to ever come close to escaping, except Dash herself, but in the end Dash never truly escaped the place, just became the leader of her personal hell. She stared at the gleaming machine smiling, "Well old friend, I should die how I lived, and I lived by you and this damned factory, I hope there is a hell for us, a bleak unending blackness, an eternity of punishment" she clutched the bottle tight to her heart, "I wish I had something besides a vial of spectra but oh well, I'm gonna be a vial of it soon enough" She pulled the scrawled note out of her pocket and the duct tape, then stuck it to the rail, then she waited until someone walked by. The machine begged at her, pleaded that she may feed it, as she had always done, it was the only real thing Dash would leave behind, a strategy to slaughter fillies and colts. She laughed a sorrowful, almost sarcastic laugh, raspy, without true joy behind it. It was flat and tired, and sad. She heard footsteps from the other side of the cat walk and looked to the left, she saw a night watch pony, "Overmare" he stood at attention, "I heard something and came over, are you ok?" he commented after seeing the ominous smile of the overmare as she stared at the instrument in which she had used to end the lives of so many, Dash never replied just kept smiling, looking distantly, as if caught in pleasant memories. The overmare finally turned to face him, "They say you gotta die in front of an audience to be remembered these days" she sighed,"So I took extra care I did" she hopped the railing and plunged into the machine,"Tell my friends I loved the-" she was cut of by her own screams of agony as she was ground into spectra. The watch pony just stared for a few minutes, he was in awe, and then ran yelling that she was dead throughout the factory, causing unimaginable chaos as anarchy descended, factory overseers battling for Dash's place as the factory commandant
