A.N: Written for the Guess the Name of the Reindeer challenge at Hogwarts: Challenges & Assignments :)
Christmas with Walburga was quite frankly, unbearable.
Walburga was the annoying cousin who rolled her heavy-lidded eyes dramatically at every joke, who grumbled and groaned every time a caroller appeared at the door or a Christmas tune played, and throttled the house elves if they appeared wearing tinsel around their necks.
Walburga was the girlfriend who blasted the enchanted mistletoe from the ceiling with an incendio spell, and marched away from the spot when the enchantment was broken, her head held high. She never bought Orion a gift in their entire relationship, instead telling him that her presence alone was the gift that kept on giving.
Walburga was the daughter who was never happy with anything that she received; nothing was good enough for Walburga's exquisite tastes. She was the first to complain about the taste of the turkey, and the first to retire to her bedroom when her gift box only contained silver earrings inset with amethysts, and not the emeralds she requested.
Walburga was the sister who screamed the house down when Cygnus got first pick of the roast potatoes in their childhood, because she wanted to choose the biggest, crispiest ones on the plate.
Worst of all, as she got older, she was the auntie, the mother, the sister, and the wife who sat at the head of the table, pulling together all of these anti-Christmas traits she had developed over the years. By the end of the day, her cheeks would be tinged pink from the Daisyroot she drank from her waking hour, and her throat raw from shouting and complaining all day.
However, Orion wouldn't have her any other way.
